Hello our dear eWeLink and SONOFF users:
Welcome to join the special discussion on the product roadmap and possible future of SONOFF NSPanel Pro!
In order to ensure that the direction of our product iterations aligns with your expectations for NSPanel Pro, we are taking a sincere step today: I would like to share with you the product roadmap for the next 4 versions. At the same time, I sincerely look forward to your participation in the planning discussions for the future versions.
We are sharing these plans not merely as a notice, but as an open invitation. We sincerely welcome your participation in the discussion and your sharing of your ideas. Letâs work together to shape the future of NSPanel Pro.
The Roadmap: Recent 4 versions that we are going to develop
v4.1.0 on November 6th, 2025
Core features
-
Matter Bridge chapter 1: NSPanel Pro can act as a Matter Bridge which could bridge all kinds of non-Matter devices to Matter ecosystems (Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, etc.). As the first step, NSPanel Pro will be able to bridge its Zigbee devices in this version.
-
Export Zigbee devices to Home Assistant: NSPanel Pro is embracing Home Assistant ecosystem. In v4.0.x firmware, NSPanel Pro supports installing Home Assistant companion app through F-Droid app store. In this version, NSPanel Pro will be able to export its Zigbee devices to Home Assistant through Home Assistantâs MQTT Discovery protocol.
v4.2.0 on December 8th, 2025
Core features
-
Matter Bridge chapter 2: NSPanel Pro will be able to bridge eWeLink devices including Wi-Fi devices, Zigbee devices connect to other eWeLink Zigbee Hub, locally or through eWeLink cloud in this version.
-
Always auto-start on system boot: By default,
NSPanelPro Appis theHome AppïŒaka Launcher, so it will always run when NSPanel Pro boots. When you launch other app throughF-Droid -> Settings -> Installed Applications,NSPanelPro Appis still running in the background and provides an AssistiveTouch button for you to click in order to go back to it (bringNSPanelPro Appto foreground). But if you set other app such as Home Assistant companion app asHome App,NSPanelPro Appwonât start after system reboot, which disables all the goodiesNSPanelPro Appprovides. In this version,NSPanelPro Appwill always auto-start on system boot no matter itâsHome Appor not.
Additional features
-
Apps Screen and App Switcher: There will be a dedicated screen to list all the apps you installed through F-Droid or adb. You can tap on the icon of an app to launch (open) it. If you have multiple apps running at the same time, you can use
App Switcherto quickly switch between them. -
System-level screensaver: The name says it all. I think a lot of us want it desperately. At least, I am.
-
Remote update through eWeLink App: Currently, NSPanel Pro can only be updated by physically interacting with it. This is not ridiculous, there are rational reasons behind it, but it is very inconvenient, especially when we are introducing a lot of new features (and inevitably a few bugs). All other eWeLink devices, such as SONOFF MINIR4, can be updated remotely through eWeLink App. Weâll fill the gap for NSPanel Pro in this version.
-
Reorder default screens:
Default screensis in fixed position in screen list. For example,Device screenalways comes at the very end. This is not convenient if you prefer to use NSPanel Proâs touch screen to control other smart home devices in your house. In v4.2.0, you can finally put default screens anywhere you want. -
Notification optimization: Audio notification on the screen will support custom audio content and text notification will support custom text content.
v4.3.0 on January 8th, 2026
Core features
-
Matter Bridge chapter 3: NSPanel Pro will be able to bridge Home Assistant devices through HAâs WebSocket API to 3rd-party Matter ecosystems.
-
Support BTHome V2 protocol: BTHome is an open standard for broadcasting sensor data and button presses over Bluetooth LE.
Additional features
-
Export NSPanel Pro itself to Home Assistant: NSPanel Pro is able to export its Zigbee devices to Home Assistant in v4.1.0. In this version, NSPanel Pro will be able to export its own capabilities, such as speaker, ambient light sensor, to Home Assistant.
-
Zigbee Mode Switch optimization: Switching between Zigbee Hub Mode and Zigbee Router Mode will cause NSPanel Pro to revert to its factory settings (Factory Reset), and to be removed from your eWeLink account. This is truely ridiculous. We will fix it in this version.
v4.4.0 on February 9th, 2026
Core features
-
Thermostat resurrection: Thermostat feature is pretty basic in previous versions. We plan to do a big upgrade for thermostat in this version, including, but not limited to, multiple execution devices, preset and custom modes, powerful schedule.
-
Zigbee improvement in performance and compatibility: The built-in Zigbee NCP firmware will be upgraded to 8.x, and weâll fully incorperate zigbee-herdsman and zigbee-herdsman-converters to better support 3rd-party and non-standard Zigbee devices.
Additional features
- Zigbee Channel Management: We plan to provide a small tool for you to find better Zigbee channel for your NSPanel Pro.
The Co-Created Future: Tell us what you want, and which feature should be prioritized
We know the wisdom of the community is boundless. Here are features that we are currently evaluating but have not yet scheduled. If you are interested or have any requirements, we look forward to your participation in the discussion.
-
VUI Entry: Home Assistant has built a specific device called Home Assistant Voice Preview edition, which is basically a speaker and microphone for Home Assistantâs voice pipeline (the voice assistant backend). We think NSPanel Proâs speaker and microphone could also do the job if you want to save several bucks.
-
Wave your hand to turn on the display: To turn on the display of NSPanel Pro, you need to tap on the screen first. Is there a better way? One of our dear users showed us the magic: wave hand in front of NSPanel Pro, the display will be automatically turned on.
-
Support SIP protocol: SIP is the IETF standard protocol for VoIP. There are many SIP-based intercom systems sit beside smart home systems. NSPanel Pro could blend in those intercom systems by supporting SIP protocol.
-
Support other MQTT protocols: Tasmota? ChirpStack?
-
Support more languages: Lithuanian, etc.
If you need a feature that is not listed, or if you have additional requirements regarding existing features, please reply this topic. Making you satisfied is our top priority.
PS: I am the newly appointed product manager of NSPanel Pro. We are a relatively small team consisting of 5 developers and 2 testers. Weâll work hard to live up to your expectations. We also sincerely appreciate your understanding and tolerance.
