Extended? In what way exactly? Nothing has changed. Maybe it requires a firmware update for the SNZB‑02D R2, but such an update doesn’t exist.
The sensor is still on version 1.0.2. When it’s connected to the NSPanel after the latest update, the panel develops a peculiar “hiccup” — it periodically freezes and displays the messages shown in the photo

After the latest NSPanel Pro firmware update, I expected improvements in how the panel integrates with Home Assistant via MQTT. Unfortunately, nothing has changed in this area. The dev team seems to have focused mainly on optimizing the F‑Droid experience. Maybe there are impressive results on that front, but I haven’t had time to explore it yet.

What hasn’t improved is MQTT data quality. NSPanel Pro still publishes raw, unfiltered Zigbee DP values for every Sonoff device. This results in Home Assistant creating a large number of useless MQTT entities, many of which never receive valid data. HA then floods the logs with warnings such as:

Template variable warning: 'dict object' has no attribute 'temperature_compensation'
Template variable warning: 'dict object' has no attribute 'humidity_compensation'
Template variable warning: 'dict object' has no attribute 'real_time_mode_continue'

This happens with every Sonoff Zigbee device connected through NSPanel Pro. Examples:

  • SNZB‑02D R2 – lots of unused fields published
  • TRVZB – especially messy, generates many meaningless DP values
  • All other Sonoff Zigbee sensors behave the same way

What’s surprising is that Aqara Lumi devices are filtered correctly by NSPanel Pro and do not generate any junk entities. This clearly shows the issue is specific to how NSPanel Pro handles Sonoff Zigbee devices.

Home Assistant’s MQTT Discovery simply exposes whatever the panel publishes, so the root cause is the lack of filtering on the NSPanel Pro side.

Suggestion: If NSPanel Pro is intended to integrate with Home Assistant via MQTT, it should filter out unused or empty DP fields and publish only meaningful values. This would prevent unnecessary entity creation and eliminate log spam.

@MichaelLearnsToCode Perhaps the ability to run the Home Assistant Companion App on the NSPanel Pro (via F‑Droid) is enough to make someone truly happy — who knows. But judging from the grand promises of “a new chapter,” nothing particularly inspiring has materialized so far. And unfortunately, this whole topic has been quietly tiptoed around by the dev team in recent weeks. As if it simply didn’t exist.

I don’t see/get the update. Still 4.1.5 as the current checked version

The same problem and randomly reset.

I’m curious how many times you’ve seen the shell error and/or a restart on your device. On mine — at least from what I’ve noticed — there have been 11 error messages and three full restarts since Saturday morning. Something clearly went wrong with firmware 4.2.0.

At first, I thought it was related to one of my Zigbee devices. After removing it, things calmed down for a while, but that turned out to be premature optimism. Have you also noticed that after a reboot, the Zigbee network rebuild takes much longer compared to previous firmware versions?

Where do we find this version?

NsPanel Pro is stuck on updating to 4.2.0.

The blue circle has been spinning for two hours. Zero progress, zero response. And what now?

I don’t even know because I don’t count it.

Turn the power off and on again.

THX, I was afraid that this solution would break something , it’s ok. However, now it no longer sees the updated to .

Try forcing a manual update check.

Sorry,I’m late.

The latest 4.2.0 version of NSPanel Pro now supports the SNZB-02DR2 device. Are you able to add it successfully?

Regarding the “hiccup” issue and the messages shown in your photo, please provide log information for further investigation.

Best regards.

I did 3 times already. The device ID is: 1001ea2549.

Yes, no problem. But it was already possible to add it with version 4.1, so in that respect nothing fundamentally has changed.

“Enable Remote Temperature Display to view data from another sensor” is still nowhere to be found. I wrote to Sonoff some time ago and they replied that this requires updating the NSPanel Pro to version 4.2. Now I’m finding out that, to achieve complete happiness, an update of the eWeLink app is also required and, allegedly, a firmware update for the SNZB‑02DR2 as well. So what do you make of that? Because at this point, I’m officially confused :man_tipping_hand:

Well yes, of course — it still needs to gain official status and some big shot at Google has to give it the stamp of approval.

Likewise, best
