As so many others I also went the ADB route to get to use the NSpanel Pro with Home Assistant, now that it’s a official possibility I of course also would like to get the v4 fw…

Any possibility for this to happen on my NSpanle pro with deviceID 1001ed017f ?

Just bought a new NSpanel for another project, making it 9 in total (7 of them run fine in their ADB configuration) and have to say that what an amazing work it has been done with v3 and v4 of the fw.

I really hope to get the old one menioned above up to v4 since the new one and that old one is for the same project.

Amazing work team!

Thank you very much for your recognition and using so many NSPanel Pro devices :+1:

You can refer to NSPanel Pro V4.x.x Beta Test Application Tool Now Open to apply for v4.x.x firmware (even for rooted devices). Or you can follow the instructions below if you feel comfortable to skip the notices and warnings.

:memo: How to Apply

Follow these steps to join the Beta Test program:

  1. Visit the tool page: NSPanel Pro Beta Testing Program
  2. Log in using your eWeLink account.
  3. Select the NSPanel Pro device you wish to register.
  4. Read and accept the risk notice, then submit your application.
  5. Wait approximately 5 minutes, then go to your device’s Settings -> About -> Software Update to check for the latest firmware and install it.

If you encounter any issue, please let us know. We are here to help.

Hi, thank you for your feedback. We have identified the cause of the issue. Currently, NSPanel Pro’s Simple mode does not support the Dynamic theme. If time permits, we will optimize this in version 4.2.0 (scheduled for December 8). Once the fix is released, I will keep you updated. Thanks again for your understanding.

Hello,

About the “Wave your hand feature” will be perfect.

to enable the screen instead of touching it, Android detect this already as proximity sensor.

About the “Auto Firmware Download”, when unchecked i have the new firmware indicated, and click on the circle icon only check if new firmware is available, to install ir, i must enable “auto firmware Download”

One good news is the “Android Navigatio Bar”, i don’t know if related to your new 4.1.4 or the new HA app release, the “navigation bar” is auto hide when “fullscreen mode” is enable in HA setting.

and the area is resized to fit almost the entire screen.

This is a popular feature request. We’ll work on it ASAP. At present, we are working very hard to prepare the v4.2.0 firmware.

Yes, clearly the title Auto Firmware Download has caused confusion. Please refer to previous disscusion about it NSPanel Pro v4.1.0 Release: New Features & Enhancements - #110 by p.silhan. We haven’t come up with a better title yet.

The glory goes to Home Assistant companion app.

better title can be : “Enable Update Installation” or “Allow Update Installation”

So, thank to HA team.

Oh boy so looking forward to the release 4.2.0

Thank you very much for using NSPanel Pro.

We are looking forward to v4.2.0 too, and we are working like crazy on it. It’ll take us 1 or 2 extra days to get v4.2.0 ready.

By the way, v4.2.0 will be released to Beta Test Program users first.

To twist the old saying ‘better late than never’… I’d say ‘better late than half‑baked.’

If this helps, this “Auto Firmware Download” toggle acts the same as driver updates for NVIDIA (automatically download an update, but user manually installs the update). The terminology NVIDIA use is:

Automatically download updates and let me choose when to install

That’s a bit long though, so you could keep the title as “Auto Download Updates”, but then add some hint text below based on the longer version provided I provided above.

On another note, I’m excited to see v4.2.0, as this should solve the majority of Home Assistant companion app issues and mean I can install the remainder of my Sonoff NSPanel Pro 120 in each room. Thanks for working so hard on the updates, they’ve been amazing!
