NSPanel Pro v4.1.0 Release: New Features & Enhancements

so you mean the only supported zigbee devices now is the one paired with nspanel itself , thats make sense

ā€œAh! So that’s what it’s about.

According to the available information, Zigbee on the NSPanel Pro is supported only locally and does not provide any translation functionality.
eWeLink has announced ongoing development of the 4.x.x firmware, so in theory such bridging could appear in the future. However, this is something that needs to be confirmed with the development team, because beyond the roadmap there are various technical constraints and practical considerations. It seems you may be expecting too much from the NSPanel Pro. After all, it is not an iHost

I don’t think you understood the point. I only do it for a minute so I can see the setting button.

Otherwise I would like to see the wall panel locked to the Home Assistant app without the possibility of going back.

I’ve hidden all the menus for this user inside home assistant so there’s no way to leave

so you mean the only supported zigbee devices now is the one paired with nspanel itself , thats make sense

Yes, exactly. That’s what we stated in NSPanel Pro Roadmap and Co-Created Future :

v4.1.0 on November 6th, 2025

  • Matter Bridge chapter 1: NSPanel Pro can act as a Matter Bridge which could bridge all kinds of non-Matter devices to Matter ecosystems (Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, etc.). As the first step, NSPanel Pro will be able to bridge its Zigbee devices in this version.

For eWeLink Wi-Fi devices and Zigbee devices from other eWeLink Zigbee Hubs (ZBBridge, ZBBridge-P, ZBBridge-U), they will be supported in v4.2.0 on December 8th, 2025:

  • Matter Bridge chapter 2: NSPanel Pro will be able to bridge eWeLink devices including Wi-Fi devices, Zigbee devices connect to other eWeLink Zigbee Hub, locally or through eWeLink cloud in this version.

Note: we may miss some eWeLink smart devices of specific model. There are too many of them. Please let us know and we will fix it.

  • Proximity wake-up doesn’t work for me ( tested on Sonoff app, i suspect than HA doesn’t work for now )
  • Checked Proximity sensor tested with testing app, the proximity sensor work well in range 0-20cm from NSpanel. ( i thinked the sensor have ability to work in long distance up to 60cm 1m …, to wake screen when you are around, but not to be very close )

also @DamienCH

I am sorry to say NSPanel Pro has built-in ICC light sensor but no proximity sensor. The test app works by checking a significant change in illumination. We could implement a feature called:

  • Wave your hand to turn on the display: To turn on the display of NSPanel Pro, you need to tap on the screen first. Is there a better way? One of our dear users showed us the magic: wave hand in front of NSPanel Pro, the display will be automatically turned on.

If you go close enough to NSPanel Pro which actually blocks the light, the screen will be turned on automatically.

  • i suspect found an bug : when you uncheck ā€œ auto download updateā€ you can’t update manually the new firmware. the row-circle button only check the firmware available, but nothing more, for donwloading update, i needed to check ā€œ auto downloadā€ to have ability to install the new firmware.

Oh, sorry for the misunderstanding. This is the intended behavior. Maybe the title Auto Firmware Download is a little misleading.

I see that now with 4.1.3, when home assistant is in launcher mode, the small allow and dot appears to return to Sonoff launcher. Is there an option to hide it?

Having the possibility to hide the button would be great.

Oh, that’s weird. We haven’t implemented such a feature.

How did you set Home Assistant companion app as the Home app? You can refer to NSPanel Pro V4.0.7 Optimized Version Released - #58 by MichaelLearnsToCode for a reference.

By the way, did you reboot your NSPanel Pro after the setting? It only takes effect after a reboot.

You can reboot your NSPanel Pro through Top drop-down menu -> Settings -> About -> Reboot.

This ā€œauto firmware downloadā€ behaviour is confusing to me too.

I would call it ā€œauto firmware installā€. If switched off, then manual install should be still available for user to choose if update or not.

By default (enabled), Auto Firmware Download is the same as before: automatically downloads the new firmware, but requires manual installation. When disabled, NSPanel Pro will NOT try to check the availability of a new firmware, not to say downloading it. This feature is for users who are satisfied with the current firmware, and don’t want to mess up with the new firmwares.

Maybe we should just allow manually checking the firmware and after that, manually downloading the firmware? What if users change their mind later, and they want to delete the downloaded firmware?

Maybe it would be worth considering that, after downloading new firmware, a prompt appears on the screen saying: New firmware available. Install it now or keep it for later?

thanks for clearfy , what about nspanel acting as solid matter 1.4 hub ? where can i find this info ? also if adding a matterbridge ( from other eco system ) to nspanel pro , if that matterbridge has unsupported devices then the whole will fail , so i suggest that adding different matterbridge will allow to show what supported and discard not supported without failing , i hope you understand me

Hi, @Tamer_Salah
We plan to publish an article detailing the device types supported by NSPanel Pro as a Matter Hub and Matter Bridge. Stay tuned for updates.

Regarding the Matter Bridge addition issue you mentioned, our current design filters out unsupported device types during the process, adding only compatible devices.

The problem you encountered appears to be an exception that requires further investigation.

Could you please describe the problem you are encountering in more detail? Or please submit a log entry via NSPanel Pro Settings > About > Feedback.

Best regards

@JoJo Is their a way to switch the panels ui homescreen to normal or do u have to use the companion app cuz mine wont let me access the settings anymore in home assistant companion any advice?

Would really help if u added a shortcut to and from the Droid apps that u have installed from the nspanel home ui it’s a huge pain to switch right now….

Hi, this is a very good suggestion. We are already working on this feature, and it is expected to be supported in version 4.2.0 on December 8. At that time, users will be able to switch between apps more quickly and conveniently. Please stay tuned for this version release.

I’ve set the home app as explained in the link that you’ve posted. And then I did a reboot.
That way, when the device is connected to Power, home assistant will launch automatically as it’s the default launcher.

But with this new version the small arrow appears, and when I click on it the small circle appears. When I press it, I see the Rubik animation, because it’s launching the Sonoff launcher for the first time since it rebooted.

The behavior that changed was that before this update the small arrow was not visible after reboot when Home Assistant was set as a launcher, therefore there was no way to get out of Home Assistant.

I hope my explanation is clear

Thanks!

Got it. Thank you very much for the detailed explanation. We have identified the root cause and will fix it in v4.2.0 which is going to be released on December 8th.

Compared to version 3.12, version 4.x is a great improvement. Previously, lights connected to my Hue hub (connected to NSPanel via matter) would regularly lose connection, rendering them useless. Now the connection is much more stable, but I’ve noticed that tapping the buttons (cards?) no longer toggles the lights, I now have to long press the button to get to the light settings. Is this behaviour intended?

Also, the dynamic weather theme on my NSPanel doesn’t seem to work, the others do, but the dynamic one is just a black background. I’m sure I saw it working at one point, it may have stopped working after I altered widgets on the main screen. Is there any way to bring it back?

Yes, and we feel sorry for the inconvenience. We plan to optimize the interactive experience in v4.3.0 which is scheduled to be released on January 8th, 2026. We may be able to get it done before v4.3.0. We’ll do our best.

Could you please take a photo of the dynamic weather theme with a black background so we could better understand the issue, and could you also submit a log on NSPanel Pro through Top drop-down menu -> Settings -> About -> Feedback -> Submit.

Thank you. I’m pleased to have access to the lights now, even if it requires a long press.

This is one of the themes that works:

And here’s the dynamic theme:

I’ve submitted feedback:

NSPanel Device ID: 10022022ca

V 4.1.4 stopped reporting one temperature sensor. Others were OK. In eWeLink app, sensor was off-line, but on NSPanel screen I saw the temperature. Restart of the NSPanel solved the problem, heating (via scene) started immediately.

I have submitted the feedback.
