Which Matter devices are actually supported?

The following devices work without any problems in my Matter environment (Google Home and ioBroker):

Door lock

Humidifier/air purifier

Lighting

Power outlets with energy measurement

Roller blinds

Room thermostat

Robot vacuum cleaner

Motion detector

On the NSPanel pro 120, I can currently only connect lighting via Matter; the rest does not work at all :(.

So now to my question: which devices are actually supported by the Matter Hub, and with which Matter version?

I apologize for the delayed response. Currently, the device types and capabilities supported by NSPanelPro via the Matter hub are:
On/Off Plug-in Unit
Extended Color Light
Aggregator
On/Off Light Switch
Color Temperature Light
Occupancy Sensor
Contact Sensor
Humidity Sensor
Generic Switch
On/Off Light
Dimmable Light
and Light Sensor.

Therefore, many of the types you mentioned may not be supported yet. I will relay this feedback to our team, and we will gradually work on supporting more types in the future.

This is just a list of categories, but a complete list of devices would be helpful.

Why are these types, like many others not supported on the iHost?

But for the matter to work, you only need the list of categories! If the device correctly matches its category, it will be paired with the HUB, and the same goes for iHost and Nspanel Pro! At least, that’s how it works for me!

I would say that the only company that accepts various categories of business without much trouble is SmartThings! Google and Alexa have their own issues.

Trying to connect things to the Aqara ecosystem is a nightmare! Because of the category, they accept fewer things than Sonoff!

Quite possibly, that’s one of the reasons I’m using their hub, but in this case I am asking @Milk about a couple of very basic device types.
The most typical automation in the most basic of smart homes is switching on a light with a contact sensor.

The implementation in iHost by matt3r was still in beta, in fact it still is, and only accepts the basics. Unless you use iHost as the default base for your automations, which doesn’t make much sense if you use SmartThings or Google Home, this limitation in iHost doesn’t matter much, since the correct way would be to automate on the final platform where it receives all the device matter data. iHost won’t export the device matter data again.

Now, if the idea is to put everything on iHost and do the automations there, which I don’t see the point in due to limitations in automation there, that would really be a problem.

I’m not sure there’s a single “correct” way. In my case, about 90% of my automations are bridged to SmartThings, which for me is still the best designed mainstream routines platform. For more complex logic, I use Node-RED on iHost.

That’s why I’d like to hear from @Milk or others: can we expect support for basic Matter device types similar to what’s already available?

Hi, I have confirmed with the responsible colleague regarding the discussion about iHost. In future versions of iHost, support for more device types via the Hub will be updated, and this may happen in the second half of this year.
