MINIR4M , M5M and Matter

Hi Everyone,

I have installed MINIR4M and used it with Apple’s HomeKit post pairing with the eWeLink app first. But on random intervals, I get device unresponsive messages on Apple’s Home app.

Does this mean, it’s using Matter over WiFi and not using my Apple TV or HomePod as Matter hub? (I don’t have any other Matter hubs at home)

Do I have to pair it with Apple’s Home App first and then pair with eWeLink app? Do you think that will solve the issue? Or I am making some other mistake.

Any help is appreciated.

Found this post by search, may i know how’s R4M working with Apple home now?
We have fixed some issues with Apple recently, especially on stability, i can talk to SONOFF engineer team to push a testing firmware update for your R4M, please let me know if you’re interested.

Does this update MINIR4M also improve performance with other platforms? (e.g. Smartthing, ewelink as matter)

Based on our current testing, there has been an improvement, especially in online stability.

BTW, i think @ward have submitted the testing enrollment for your MINIR4Ms, if not, and you would like to have a try, just let us know.

This patch mainly focus on the OFFLINE issue.

I was experiencing same offline problem on Sonoff M5. Since the 1.0.1 update, no disconnection… working pretty good and no disconnection anymore!

The delay compared to other switches still happens. Even that, an excellent update

We have fixed some issues with Apple and other giants companies recently, mailly focus on OFFLINE issue fixed, i can forward to SONOFF engineer team to push a testing firmware update for your M5M, please let me know the device ID if you’re interested.

Yep. The M5 with Matter. I talked with AliExpress support, and they push the 1.0.1. Working well since than.

Is there a newer update than 1.0.1?

Yeah, that’s the testing firmware we are working on, let me know if sth abnormal happens.

I’ve been googling this issue from time to time to see if there are any others who are having the constant “No Response” issue with their MINIR4Ms, glad to come across this thread!

Sure thing. Could you please DM the device ID shown in your eWeLink app?

You can update one if you have multiple units first to see if it works better.

It should take some time to ensure quality for an official release – it depends on SONOFF. May I ask why would you apply to this firmware?

Did you counter specific issues with it?

My 2 minir4m always appear offline in google home but they are online in ewelink app.
