Thank you this is great

But the my ideia is to use the NSPanel PRO as a Gateway/HUB Also for the eWelink-remote devices if possible in oder to use this kind of devices linked to the NSPanels PRO scattered for all the home divisions like too the Zigbee Ones, with this new feature.

Thank you

It’s not going to happen since the eWeLink Remote doesn’t work this way,

I also have Home Assistant on Raspberry Pi 4B 4GB so this is entirely pointless (if I only had 2 then you could argue it was for when Node Red leaves 32 bit in future, but by then the iHost 2 will probably be old), it was more because I wanted to show it was possible and write a guide for other people with just an NS Panel Pro. While I have been doing this I think there is a thread asking for novel things that can be done with the new FDroid firmware. Previously the only way to
do this was to push things using ADB. But now it can all be done locally. I think I had done the hard bit and was just finishing off but can’t connect the NS Panel Pro server of eWeLink Cube. That and the reboot test (but I have already placed a script and a backup script) is all I wanted to do. If it works it could probably be included as a script in the NS Panel Pro firmware quite easily and enable Node RED and MQTT (via Node RED).

Also my first flow in Node Red is System monitoring. I am currently running Node RED in my script at a maximum of 256MB and rarely goes above 35-40% total memory use. I am thinking of trying 644MB. The second flow is MQTT (node-red-contrib-aedes). This works without a password currently. I think I must have mistyped the password.

Edit: it’s this thread I was going to put my instructions in.

Hi, The OTA issue has been fixed in version 4.2.2. You can obtain the latest version via the beta tool.

:memo: How to Apply

Follow these steps to join the Beta Test program:

  1. Visit the tool page: NSPanel Pro Beta Testing Program
  2. Log in using your eWeLink account.
  3. Select the NSPanel Pro device you wish to register.
  4. Read and accept the risk notice, then submit your application.
  5. Wait approximately 5 minutes, then go to your device’s Settings -> About -> Software Update to check for the latest firmware and install it.
If the issue persists in the new version, please submit NSPanelPro logs after the upgrade failure.

ā€œInteresting experiment — it nicely shows that the NSPanel Pro can work as a standalone mini‑hub with Node‑RED and MQTT, even if with a full HA setup on an RPi4 it’s more of a curiosity than a real need. Still, this kind of documentation can be very useful for people who rely only on the NSPanel Pro and the new FDroid firmware.

Hello

Can you please clarify why, once the new sonoff dongle max have this feature.

Thank you

The reason is simple:
NSPanel Pro does not run an eWeLink‑Remote gateway.
It only receives eWeLink‑Remote trigger events locally and uses them internally. It cannot expose those devices to MQTT because it has no eWeLink‑Remote gateway service inside.

Unlike the NSPanel Pro, the Sonoff DongleM does support this on the contrary. I don’t use it myself, though. I prefer the eWeLink Remote integration in Home Assistant, which works great with BLE proxies, covers my entire apartment and all my remotes, and also receives data from Xiaomi sensors. The Sonoff DongleM is different because it does include an eWeLink‑Remote gateway, which is why it can publish remote‑button events to MQTT.

If your goal is to use eWeLink‑Remote devices in Home Assistant, the correct solution is exactly what you already wrote:
install the eWeLink‑Remote Gateway add‑on in HA and pair the remotes directly with Home Assistant.
They will appear in MQTT automatically, and the NSPanel Pro is not required for this.

Ok Thank you for all the information. But in my case I’m see the feature available on the menu of the NS Panel Pro:

Did you confirm that this is not a HUB/Gateway for this type of the devices from the NS Panel PRO?

Tks

This is for ewelink remote control like R6 and etc.

Didn’t I tell you? It only receives eWeLink‑Remote trigger events locally and uses them internally.

Yes it is, and is this kind of the ewelink remote devices that I’m mancioned to be a possible to have integrated on the HA - Home Assistant from the NS Panel PRO using the MQTT equal to the Zigbee devices available now ono the new versions.

Read this Sonoff R5 – eWeLink Remote (MQTT) — Full 6‑Button Blueprint - #3

Ok Tks

But I still need a Hub to comunicate with the device, and If already have the NS Panel PRO it will be amazing to export this to the HA - Home Assistant to the MQTT also like the Zigbee Devices. One Gateway to work with booth protocols Zigbee and the ewelink Remote to a MQTT over the NS Panel Pro.

I’ve been testing the NSPanel Pro in my smart home setup for several weeks now, and here are my honest insights, suggestions, and use-case feedback.

1. What I Use the NSPanel Pro For
I’m using NSPanel Pro as the main smart home control center in my home. It replaces multiple apps and physical remotes by centralizing control for:
• Zigbee lights and switches
• Climate control scenes
• Automation dashboards
• Timers and routines
• Security sensor status

Because it integrates with eWeLink and local control scenes, it has truly become the go-to interface for family members who don’t want to open an app.

2. What I Love Most
• Responsive UI - The touchscreen feels smooth and fast, even with complex scenes.
• Scene Integration - I can trigger multi-device scenes with one tap (e.g., ā€œGood Morningā€ turns on lights, starts the coffee maker, opens blinds).
• Local Control Support - Scenes that don’t depend on cloud reduce latency and improve reliability.
• Zigbee Integration - Works well with my Zigbee lights and sensors with minimal pairing friction.

3. Improvements I’d Love to See

  1. Custom Dashboard Widgets - Let users add small widgets (weather, next calendar event, sensor readings) directly on the home screen.

  2. More Granular Automation Editing - Allow nested conditions and time windows per device inside a single scene.

  3. Improved Icon Library - More icon options for custom button design (or allow uploading custom icons).

  4. Better Voice Assistant Handoffs - When used with local scenes + voice assistant (Alexa/Siri/Google), ensure the state sync is near real-time and doesn’t show old states.

4. Best Use Cases I Personally Implemented
• Entryway Hub - motion sensor triggers backlight and arm/disarm security modes based on presence.
• Morning Routine - time + sensor triggers a full home warm-up mode with preferred brightness and thermostat setting.
• Away Mode - a single button that switches off all lights and activates automated schedules.

5. What I’d Like in Future Firmware
• Conditional Scenes per Sensor Value (e.g., if temperature > 24°C and time between 7–10AM, set AC to 22°C).
• Custom Grids/Layout on the panel (move buttons anywhere; not fixed rows).
• Expanded Device Icons and Groups for large installations.
• Energy Dashboard integration for combined smart device power views.

6. Final Thoughts
NSPanel Pro is one of the most versatile wall-mounted smart home controllers available today, especially within the eWeLink ecosystem. It blends aesthetics, speed, and control in one place. With a few UI enhancements and more advanced automation flexibility, it could truly rival high-end professional gateways.

Thanks to the eWeLink team for this survey - I hope this feedback helps shape the next updates!

FYI. There is a typo on

  • NSPanel/Pilot features/Zigbee/Router Mode.

The graphic shows Zigebe not Zigbee

Dave

After using the NSPanel Pro in-built matter bridge for ewelink devices in HA, I was wondering if the Sonoff Integration still matters anymore.

Hoping that Sonoff will ensure all current and future devuces are compatible with matterbridge.

One update needs to be done though. The NS Panel Pro matter bridge does not expose sevice entities with their original names.

Great work to the Sonoff Team.

Thank you very much for sharing your experimentation with us. I am wondering:

  1. Is your current NSPanel Pro in daily usage? It looks like it’s mainly for experiments.

  2. We have a demo which could directly run docker engine on NSPanel Pro, so you can mix and match all kinds of docker containers. We don’t have an UI for it now, but maybe we can bundle Protainer if you prefer Web UI. If you want to have a try, we could start a new topic specific for it.

Thank you very much for sharing your idea with us. I fully understand it.

We have some technical issues around eWeLink-Remote on NSPanel Pro right now. After we have resolved them, we could also expose eWeLink-Remote devices (R5, S-Mate) to Home Assistant through MQTT.

I also need to say, even though many SONOFF and eWeLink users have told us that they like R5/S-Mate, these devices don’t sell well compared to Zigbee ones. So SONOFF has no plans making new eWeLink-Remote devices.
