I have been observing the same problems for quite a long time. And they appeared after the last update of the bridge. I don’t know, maybe it’s a coincidence, and maybe not. Once, as I already wrote, all zb devices became offline, and I have more than 50 of them. The problem was solved only by reconnecting all devices. rssi behaves unstable. Now it shows -30, and in 1 minute it can show -81, or devices standing near the bridge show -75, and devices that are located more than 10 m from the bridge -63. Very often, both end and network devices lose connection with the bridge and because of this, scenarios do not work and notifications do not arrive. Something needs to be done about this urgently!!! There are enough router devices to transmit a signal to the bridge.
I have 14 Sonoff ZBMINI Smart Switchs, all over the place. This are router devices. I don’t think that the problem is the signal coverage. Maybe too much coverage or overlapping signal problems?
I have and 15 wifi Sonoff devices (yes i like Sonoff), plus 433MHz RF Hub. No problems with wifi. They work just right.
I think that the my problem began when i start to add more and more Zigbee devices. In the beginning in very rare situations the lights didn’t goes on or off.
But now the problem its very annoying.
Have you happened to experience a power outage? It might cause such an issue in rare conditions with the chipset. That’s not caused by firmware but coordinator. SONOFF dev is working with the chip vendor for optimization.
If you accidentally countered this, please remove and re-add Zigbee devices.
When delete a Zigbee device, also deleted and the scene which contain only this device. So many scenes will be deleted and some other will remove only the device that deleted.
Is there any method than we can create a backup for the scenes?
I did it this way - I didn’t delete the devices themselves, but switched them to pairing mode and reconnected them. In this way, almost all scenes were saved. But it didn’t work any better. A backup copy of scenes is very necessary, as it would solve many problems (which shouldn’t happen)
One draft solution to save scene from deletion.
You add 1 new device in the “if” condition of the scene.
When you delete the Zigbee device, the new device will prevent the scene from deletion.
When you add the Zigbee sensor again in the scene, you remove the new device from the “if” condition and the scene will be the same.
I think this is better way for complicated scenes from white them again.
No, this is not a backup, the scene simply remains on the server and after re-adding, the device identifier is pulled into the scene. I am not an expert, but I imagine it this way.
Yes, this is a great solution for 2-3 scenes, but what to do if due to some failure - glitch you need to reconnect all devices? Or, for example, when changing the bridge. One of the reasons why I do not buy a new sonoff zb-u bridge is precisely that you need to configure everything anew. But what worries me most is that at the moment everything works disgustingly on the existing bridge.
But this is a flaw in ZigBee itself. Not all coordinators support backup and restore. Sonofflan could try to create something for their ecosystem, but I don’t know how it would be implemented. In Z2M itself, the backup options and changing coordinator when there is a problem with the current one are quite complicated and not guaranteed.
Well i did that but it did NOT worked.
Look at this motion detector with Device ID a480054054, so you can check the logs.
I deleted and add it again some days ago.
Same behavior: Signal Lost.
Look at the logs from this screens shots.
Two “No Motion Detected” the one after the other. One at 16:45:38 and the other 17:17:08.
The signal “Motion Detected” was lost again.
My “Smart Home” is not smart at all. Lights don’t go on or don’t go off.
What’s happening?
