What is the best way to configure a device to switch on/off based on a solar radiation threshold? This way certain load devices can ONLY be activated when there is enough solar generation
Also interested in this, think there should be a solar panel or energy storage, like wall battery or sth.
Did you ever get an answer to this or figure something
out? If so please reply. Thanks in ada

I don’t think Sonoff have a luminosity sensor, but I have a weather station that connects to my iHost via MQTT. Bit overkill for this use. I’d have a look for a zigbee standard 3.0 that is tested and add add one to the zigbee hub. Pretty sure there is a compatible list of zigbee devices.
I use this solar rain sensor zigbee, and it can connected to ewelink cube os.
It can detect the Illumination value but unfortunately can not give the rain / contact sensor value.
If you want just the device to check the illumination value in lux and have automation (create scene) with it, that device can work.
Do you have any information on how often the sensor sends data to iHost? Is it time-based or when the lux changes. What is this interval?
Based on the Ewelink Cube operation log for the device: almost every 1 minute the ewelink cube receives data, which means: sensor sends data every 1 minute.
The interesting part: you see from image above, there are 1 and 2 minutes interval; the lux in the 3rd column always changes value. That is why I highlight “almost” above.
I do not check further whether if sensor still have the same value as minutes before sensor not send data or still send data but ewelink cube filter it.
But there is no option to adjust the interval for sending lux data?
