Hello to the entire eWeLink forum community,
I’d like to share an issue I’m experiencing and see if anyone else has encountered this or has any suggestions.
My Setup:
- I have a Sonoff LED strip, model L3-5M (SN-OPL1200-L3RGB).
- I have successfully linked it to the eWeLink app without any issues, and it works perfectly from the app.
- I am using a Sonoff iHost with the ‘eWeLink Smart Home’ Add-on (Docker container).
- I have successfully imported the L3-5M LED strip (along with other Sonoff devices) from my eWeLink account to the iHost via this Add-on. The strip appears and is controllable from the iHost interface.
- I have configured the Matter integration between my iHost and my Google Home account.
The Problem:
While all other Sonoff devices that I’ve imported to the iHost via the ‘eWeLink Smart Home’ Add-on sync and appear correctly in my Google Home app via Matter, the L3-5M LED strip is the sole exception. Despite being correctly imported and functional within the iHost (via the Add-on), it simply does not show up in Google Home through the Matter integration.
I have checked the Matter settings on both the iHost and Google Home, and everything seems correct, especially since the other devices sync without issues using the exact same method.
My Question:
- Has anyone else experienced this specific behavior with the L3-5M LED strip (or similar Sonoff LED strips) when using the iHost’s Matter integration via the ‘eWeLink Smart Home’ Add-on?
- Could this be a known limitation of this specific model with the iHost/Add-on’s Matter integration?
- Is there a known bug, or perhaps an additional configuration step required specifically for RGB LED strips to be correctly exposed via Matter from the iHost?
I appreciate any help, hints, or confirmation you can offer in advance. If you need any further details about my setup (firmware versions, etc.), please let me know.
Thank you very much!
