Since V2.8.0 my iHost crashes/is unresponsive every 2-3 weeks

My iHost had been very reliable and stable until V2.8.0. After that update, it stopped responding afer about 2 weeks. Web UI would not load and ping to its IP was unresponsive. I did not change anything other than apply the V2.8.0 update. Is this a known problem? After I power cycled my iHost, from within the iHost UI, I sent a feedback/support request including my iHost logs - it has been 2 months withour a reply. How can I debug this problem?

They must be very busy, I’ve had a bug report for 5 months and finally I wrote to them saying I had already solved it differently.

Many of us had an important failure of Matter bridge with this update. For me was the first important issue with my iHost. The team solved this about a month ago and since then has been stable. You should be on 2.8.1.

Insist with support.

My iHost is at a vacation apartment so I don’t have physical access for another 2 months. I will update to 2.8.1 the next time i visit. In the mean time, most of my home automation is offlline.
I wish there was a scheduled restart option as that might be a workaround for problems of this nature.

I still can’t get the matter bridge working and I have 2.8.23

I’ve been using matterbridge installed in a docker within iHost. It has been solid for me.

Can you advise me which one?

In iHost docker, you can search for matterbridge and the one that works for me is:
luligu/matterbridge

https://github.com/Luligu/matterbridge

my config:
network: host
Volume matterbridge:/workspace/data

once installed, the matterbridge web UI is here:
http://ihost.local:8283

In the matterbridge web UI, I had to change the Commissioning Port settings due to a conflict with an iHost port:

Commissioning Port 5540 > 5541

I’m using matterbridge on iHost to integrate my many Shelly devices to Apple Home.

Thank you, I hope it goes better than it did in iHost.

I’m starting to get annoyed with the quality of updates. I can’t install Docker plugins on iHOST.

You can press install and it doesn’t works.

I just tried it and get the same issue. iHost on V2.8.1 won’t install that matterbridge. I have just installed the same container on a Raspberry Pi, Cube V2.8.1 and it worked fine. Maybe a 32bit issue….

It is. This error is in the iHost docker log.

message":ā€œno matching manifest for linux/arm/v7 in the manifest list entriesā€

i’m no expert on this but looks like there’s no 32bit container in DockerHub for the latest version of that container.

Thanks for discovering this - I will not update my matterbridge install going forward. The 32bit nature of iHost is really starting to seriously impact its utility.

This is happening to me with other docker plugins as well. Either everyone has stopped supporting 32-bit versions or we have a serious problem.

I created my own repository el404 (EL404) for the latest available applications for iHost.
You can find Matterbridge by searching on iHost: el404/matterbridge-for-ihost
To start:
Network:
host

Volume:
matterbridge:/workspace/data

Go to:
http://ihost.local:8283 → Settings → Commissioning Port 5540 > 5541 → restart icon

I’ve created a Matter Server in Docker for iHost to enable Matter support in Home Assistant (docker).
You can find it by searching: el404/ihost-matter-server

Setup configuration:
Network: bridge

Ports:
5580:5580
5581:5581
5582:5582
5583:5583

Volume: matter: /data

Access via:
http://ihost.local:5580/ (Web UI)

Home Assistant Matter integration setup:
ws://ip-your-ihost:5580/ws

I created a thread on this topic - iHost app's in docker (matter server, matter bridge and more)
