Push notification on Power On state

Thank you Yitie! Is there a way to add custom alert sounds other than the default push alert on iphone?

Pleasure, we didn’t try that yet, but iOS have strict limitations for customizing.

On whatsapp IOS you can customize alerts when new message arrive

Yeah, but so much tasks on the list, maybe we can achieve this later.

Hello All,

Thanks for this information, am trying to do the same here.

A Scene is a must to trigger the online and offline mode.

I installed two basic sonoff modules, one is connected to the main power source and the other to the heater, my concern is when there is power the heater should be ON and once mains power drop it should be off, knowing that the private generator will be available after few seconds of mains power off.

Thus is there any solution to delay and make this scenario working?

Thanks in advance

I would also really appreciate this feature. I live in South Africa, where we often have rolling blackouts, called Load Shedding, where certain blocks get turned off for 2 to 4 hours at a time, to preserve our ailing electrical grid from collapse. As a direct result I have had to install solar and battery backup to get me through a blackout. So, when a blackout occurs, I would need a scene triggered on the Online/Offline status of a device connected directly to the municipal grid.

The idea is as follows:

  1. Blackout starts

  2. Device connected to mains goes offline

  3. After 5min (for instance) trigger scene “Blackout”

  4. Turn off Smart plugs connected to high energy appliance (like kettles)

  5. Blackout is over

  6. Device Connected to mains goes Online

  7. After 5min (for instance) trigger scene “Power Restored”

  8. Turn on smart plugs connected to high energy appliance (like kettles)

So, basically, using a Sonoff device as a smart contactor.

Hi guys!
Any news about ON line push notifications? I tried to force them to work, but no luck.
Neither Scenes nor the changing status to ON while loading the device are not send Push notifications.
Just only if I turn OFF manually the device after ONline, the app sends push notification next time.
I tried to use the Auto turn off option, but the device does not turn on on loading :frowning:
BTW. sonoff released new firmware 3.7 version. Maybe they fixed the issues with statuses.

Please add this feature i live in lebanon and alot will benefit from this feature when the device is back online we get an alert

Hi @yitie,

Any update on the Online Alert feature?

Thanks.

Hi, thanks for asking, i thinks there have a workaroud for the “ONLINE” notification,
Set the power-on state as ON,
Set a scene, trigger “when the X is on” then action “Push Notifications”

SO, when the outage is restored, the device will ON, then trigger a notification for you to know.

Hi plz let me know if you found a solution for push notification received when power is back

Hello, ewelink app is widely used in Lebanon and with the electricity outage and the importance of knowing when we have Utility Electricity or Generator Electricity the usage of sonoff as a power outage and restor notification is very important.

I tried the last state to ON and add an auto scene to notify still doesnt work.

Any progress on the ON notification after being offline?

Set the sonoff switch to power on, and then configure the following scenario to achieve the goal

Automation scenario 1:
If the sonoff switch is on,
Then send an app notification, and execute click Scenario 2

Click to execute scenario 2:
If clicked;
Then turn off the sonoff switch

The effect presented is: after powering back on in the power-off state, the sonoff switch is turned on, the scene notification is triggered, and the sonoff switch is clicked to turn off until the next power-off cycle is triggered

Thank you so much will try it.

Thank you it worked perfectly :ok_hand:t2:

Help please, i want a device if it is back online then other switch turns ON

The same setting, you need to sacrifice a switch A to recognize grid energization:

Set the “Power-on State” on with sonoff switch A,and then configure the following scenario to achieve the goal

Automation scenario 1:
If
the sonoff switch A is on;
Then
turn “the other switch” on,
and execute click Scenario 2

Click to execute scenario 2:
If
clicked;
Then
turn off the sonoff switch A

The effect presented is: after powering back on in the power-off state, the sonoff switch A is turned on, “the other switch” turn on is triggered, and then the sonoff switch A is clicked to turn off until the next power-off cycle is triggered

Thanks Songal. This was really helpfull in getting my problem sorted.
I have a schedule to run my hot water cylinder for 2 hours at 6am and 6pm. With ever changing power outage schedules, it sometimes causes me to miss a cycle as the power may come on or off just after the start time causing the start to be missed or interrupted. The switch is set to OFF after power restored.
The solution was to use a spare switch with power on state to be ON and I also set inching mode for 30 minute to OFF. Correction- inching doesn’t work with power on state so created another scene to see if ON and set delay of 30 minutes to switch Off.
I then run scenes as you describe in the 30 minute window ( 08h15 and 20h15) that indicates the power had been off during the normal heating time.
For the instances when power is down before the schedule heating times and comes back on just after say 6am, I have another scene have that runs at 6:15 am to see if its OFF and then to swith ON.
All working great now:)

After 5 minutes offline where do the notifications go? Email, cellphone, or only in the app. I have it set for push notifications and unplug it and never get notifications. Thank you

Hi,

I am facing same issue in Lebanon also, but you need to solve it for the time being by installing one other device on the generator line, and once the generator is OFFLINE you will be notified, then you will check that either it is outage from the generator or the main power from EDL is back. For now this is the only solution I think. This is what I did and it worked when ewelink updated the offline notification.
