Problems with ewelink smart home IHOST

Hi, steve7

Is the Sonoff Switch R2 also offline on the iHost?
Could you please send us the smart- home addon logs for analysis?
When the device is offline, you can try disconnecting its power supply and then reconnecting it.

Hi, jaimecascado

Among these steps, the one that could have an impact is ‘Restart the Ewelink smart home’.

Could you execute the ping command when the device control fails to help us analyze the specific reason? And send us the results of the ping.
Here are the steps to open the terminal and execute the ping command on different operating systems.

On Windows

  1. Press the Win key to open the Start menu.
  2. Type “cmd” in the search box and press Enter to open the Command Prompt.
  3. In the Command Prompt window, type the following command: ping eWeLink_1000fbae8c.local
  4. Press Enter to execute the command.

On Mac OS

  1. Open the “Finder”.
  2. Go to the “Applications” folder and open the “Utilities” folder.
  3. Open the “Terminal” application.
  4. In the Terminal window, type the following command: ping eWeLink_1000fbae8c.local
  5. Press Enter to execute the command.

1000fbae8c is the device ID for the device where the control failed.
Thank you very much for your assistance.

What’s an iHost? If you mean an iApple, iHaven’t ever touched one.
But, further diagnostics, I flashed the ESP with ESPHome. It flashed OK, but the WiFi still wouldn’t connect. I suspect a bad ESP chip.

But thanks for the tip. Where would I find the log files?

I thought you’re an iHost user cause here is CUBE category.
But from your description, the device itself has malfunction.

Hello Suika,

Thank you very much for your support. in the moment i find a problem i will text you with the ping result. It is working reasonable ok from the last rebooting.

Best regards.

Hello again.
after a new external ihost reason reboot, again, some devices does not response from ihost. Before anything, i tried to make a ping to: ping eWeLink_1000fbae8c.local but answer was: The ping request could not find the host eWeLink_1000fbae8c.local. Check the name and
try again.
Then I restart ewelink smart device service, and every thing goes fine.

Noted.
We’ll make some adjustment to solve the problem.

Nice to hear about it. Thanks again for your support.

Hi, jaimecascado.
Can you tell us what add-on you run on your iHost?

Hello, please find then in the next capture:

Never use node-red before, right?

YES, i used it one time just to try. Then, i uninstalled it so far.

It’s the reboot problem of iHost still exist?

To be honest, there is about one week without realise any problem with it.
But i can not ensure you if Nodered were installed or not when problem was present.
