NSPanel Pro v4.3.0 Officially Released: New Features & Enhancements

Absolutelly agree here. As a general user, I would really appreciate robust stable foundations as the first step.

I agree to the idea to consolidate the foundations first, but with an eye to the future

A decent HA integration will be a killer feature

The only thing is that the organized MQTT on the NSPP side will not be any kind of Home Assistant integration. What the MQTT server in NSPP publishes can be used by any broker. All that’s needed is to enter the address with the port number, the username, and the password.

I completely agree with you. First, we need to build a solid foundation for the NSPP firmware and the MQTT system. Then, in the future, if additional layers of functionality can be added to the device in line with the NSPP team’s upcoming goals, that would be welcome.

Good question - for Sonoff.

Problem still persists and after day on site it looks like if I wake up NSSP, devices goes back online. Will monitor it over the weekend again. Devices connected via ZBBP work just fine.

NSPP v.4.3.3., Device ID: 10022022ca, feedback submitted.

I apologize for the delayed response. I checked the logs again, and the information is similar to before, indicating that unstable Wi-Fi connection caused the device to go offline. Are your other home devices and the NSPanel Pro connected to the same Wi-Fi network? You can try connecting it to a 2.4GHz mobile hotspot for a period of time to observe whether the online status remains stable, which can help rule out Wi-Fi-related issues.

Yes, i use that wifi for work on my PC and for Internet radio streaming - with no issue. And, music streaming is quite sensitive to data throughput. All this devices (including NSPP) are in the same room. And to clarify, NSPP is on the table in plastic stand, not mounted in the wall. As far as I remember, it uses 2.4GHz network, but can double-check.

Also, this behaviour started recently (2-3 weeks?). There was no change in the infrastructure.

And, as I told, if devices are offline and I wake up the display, it helped (twice, so it might be coincidence). Will try to confirm this behaviour though this weekend.

I’d like to support what @p.silhan reported, because I experienced very similar symptoms with my NSPanel Pro some time ago. I also received the same explanation from the dev team about “unstable Wi‑Fi,” even though my network was functioning correctly and all other devices on the same infrastructure were completely stable.

The behaviour described by p.silhan matches what I saw earlier almost exactly. In my case the issue eventually disappeared, but not because I changed anything in my Wi‑Fi setup — the network was fine from the start. That strongly suggests the root cause wasn’t the router or the environment, but something within the device or its firmware.

When two independent installations — different homes, different routers, different configurations — show the same symptoms and receive the same diagnosis, it indicates that the problem may not be related to the users’ Wi‑Fi at all. It would be helpful if the team could take another look at the possibility of a firmware‑level issue with Wi‑Fi handling or reconnect logic. Testing with a mobile hotspot can mask the issue, but it doesn’t explain its origin.

This doesn’t seem like an isolated case.

I have had the same issue.

In general the updating process seems to be a bit buggy, which is ok as we are still in beta but network could be looked at again.
Thanks for your amazing work!

Will add two graphs from today, you guess which one is connected via NSPP.

Hi, I am planning to use the display for rental apartments, therefore I am happy to see more and more HA integration and also possibilities to lock it down and prevent users from changing settings.

I have now installed and set the Home Assistant as home app and disabled the “Accessibility Button” via:

Top drop-down menu → Apps → Home App → Accessibility Button: off
Top drop-down menu → Apps → Home App → Available Apps: Home Assistant

HA is now starting immediately on power-up, which is great.

Is there a way to go back to the NSPanelPro app or to the settings?

I tried some gestures and checked the forum, but did not find a way yet. I could manage to go back by triggering the HA Android app “command_launch_app” notification via a script and setting data to “package_name: com.eWeLinkControlPanel”, but I am curious if there is a simpler way?

On another thread @MichaelLearnsToCode back in November you mentioned that your team are working on upgrading the Android version from 8.1 to Android 10 or maybe Android 12. You gave an ETA of 3 months. Just curious as to whether you are still on track with that timeline?

I’m looking to side load the Smart Envi app for my wall heaters but it requires a newer version of Android

Just found the solution for my own question: In the eWeLink App in the Settings of my NSPanel Pro I can re-enable the “Accessibility Button”. Then I can use it on the device to switch back to the NSPanel app.

Yes, once configured, you can quickly switch back to the NSPro App using this button.

Hello, we are planning to adopt Android 11 for the 86-type with relays, which is scheduled to be launched in April this year.

@Milk After weekend on site I can confirm, that it devices connected to NSPP are off-line, solution is to wake up the panel. Within 15 sec, all devices are back online and reportinng data.

Just to touch black screen is enough, nothing else. It wakes up and everything is fine.

So defnitely not an wi-fi issue.

Hi! First, I really enjoy using NSPanel’s and I am most impressed of the hard working product management team.

I have two issues I am facing with v4.3.3 of NSPanel Pro.

  1. I can’t enable Beacon Monitoring for Home Assistant. The issue seems to be in the location permissions. I attached a picture below of the prompt on the screen when trying enable it. After clicking yes and making sure the location permission is allowed for everything, we return back to home assistant… and beacon monitor is still disabled. How can I get the beacon monitor enabled for NSPanel Pro?

  1. I was able to expose speaker level etc. through MQTT, but the media player is not exposed to HA. I need media player for playing custom audio files for notifications.

Is it possible and if not, could you consider adding it to the roadmap?

Could you please provide the recent logs to help me find clues from them? It would be even better if they include offline time data after the screen turns off.

Thank you.

I did about a week ago (Device ID: 10022022ca).

Now I am not on the site, will be there tomorrow evening. And as far as I know, it is not possible to submit feedback from eWeLink app?

Yes, it can only be submitted via NSPanelPro.
If it’s tomorrow, the weekend logs will likely have been overwritten. Could you reproduce an offline event, then set the device to not sleep (after it’s back online normally), and submit the logs afterward? Thank you in advance for your help.
