NSPanel Pro V4.0.7 Optimized Version Released

Thanks for your mentions!

As a not professional user I like ewelink, just a good option use my stuffs via matter in HA without an intermediate device (iHost). E.g. I can controll my tuya devices (before I will replace them ) with sonoff sensors trough HA. Idk, maybe there is an easier way, but I’m just point-and-click guy…

If I didn’t like the Sonoff/eWeLink tandem, I wouldn’t be buying their devices - just to be clear. All the more for the ā€œpoint‑and‑click guysā€ it’s important to make cooperation between the eWeLink ecosystem and what is arguably the most interesting and widely adopted platform, Home Assistant, as smooth as possible. Until recently this wasn’t the case. Now the situation has changed, and the huge amount of work already done deserves recognition, along with the understanding that you can’t make up for months of backlog in a month or two.

There are still various issues, and that’s understandable, because the work is ongoing. NSPanel Pro currently publishes an outdated MQTT Discovery format. In Home Assistant the only workaround would be manually creating MQTT sensors instead of using discovery, but that means losing convenience. I’ve already reported this to the Sonoff dev team so they can fix the payload and replace object_id → default_entity_id. For now the entities still work, but starting in April 2026 (Core 2026.4) this method will no longer be supported, so there is still plenty of time for corrections.

It’s important to remember, though, that even with these fixes, exposing Zigbee devices via MQTT will not make NSPanel Pro a full-fledged coordinator or backend for HA. This was a conscious choice on my part and I was aware of the limitations. I’m glad to see that NSPanel Pro and iHost software is moving toward better cooperation with HA, but we should keep in mind that the resources of the eWeLink dev team are limited compared to what drives Home Assistant’s development with hundreds of enthusiast all over the world.

After the update to 4.0.0 on my nspanel pro the matter client is really unstable. It seems like is losing the connection to the matter bridge (I’m using a matter hub on an openhab server) every now and then and sometimes the nspanel app crashes and restarts. I didn’t have this kind of problem with 3.8.0.

Hi, we’re very sorry about this issue. Could you please provide the NSPanel Pro logs after the problem occurs (on NSPanel Pro, pull down → Settings → About → Submit) and send me your device ID separately? We will locate the cause of the problem as soon as possible.

The latest firmware version is v4.1.4, please update your NSPanel Pro first. If your NSPanel Pro doesn’t have v4.1.4 available, please refer to NSPanel Pro V4.x.x Beta Test Application Tool Now Open to join the Beta Test Program.
