Same for me. There is no added any application extra. What can I delete ?
Update:
I download Fossify File Manager on F-Droid. I found small things for delete. And I delete storage of F-Droid so I save 1GB space for update and I updated my devices. But we have to delete old update apk and zip file for more space we need password for this.
Update 2:
I think deleting F-Droid data wasn’t a good idea. The update is now complete, but F-Droid Installed Apps do not appear. I can’t even search to access File Manager.
Sorry for the delay. There was a configuration issue in our OTA service, but now it has been solved. Please check the latest firmware which is v4.0.12 right now through Settings -> About -> Software Update on your NSPanel Pro device. Let me know if you met any issue.
Hi, sorry for the issue. There is a bug in previous and current v4.0.x firmware which doesn’t delete used OTA files. So after several update, these unnecessary OTA files have occupied a large amount of storage space.
You can follow the steps below to clear these OTA files. As a side effect, you will need to reconfigure your NSPanel Pro after that.
Note: Reconfigure only involves Language Setting, Country Setting, Custom Wallpaper, Custom Ringtone. Zigbee network, Wi-Fi etc., remain intact.
Install Fossify File Manager through F-Droid (Top drop-down menu -> F-Droid -> Latest -> Search "Fossify File")
Open Fossify File Manager and press bottom tab Storage. You can see how much storage space is left. It should be 1.8GB at least in normal operations.
Press the number of the free storage, scroll to Other apps and press it. You can see the list of installed apps and the storage space they occupy. NSPanelPro App should take no more than 500 MB. In your case, NSPanelPro App is possibly occupying more than 1 GB storage space.
Press the name of NSPanelPro App, and then press CLEAR DATA button to recycle storage space. You will notice the AssistiveTouch button on the top left side is gone, because NSPanelPro App is stopped in order to clear its user data.
You need to power off NSPanel Pro device in order to reboot into Home screen again.
Please let me know if above method solves your issue.
Does this affect all NSPanel Pro units? Because I don’t see any significant storage usage on mine.
Yes, this affects all NSPanel Pro with v4.0.x firmware. The storage space that is occupied (wasted) varies depending on how many updates have been applied.
Will the upcoming firmware update fix this bug?
v4.0.13 which will be released tomorrow will fix it.
Sorry, the next release is v4.1.0 on November 6th which will include this bugfix.
@fofy69@gryzli24 Hi, the 4.0.x version has been deployed for your device. Please go to Settings → About to download the latest version. If you have any issues, please feel free to contact me.
Hello, the 4.0.x version has been deployed for your device. Please go to Device Page → About to download the latest version. If you have any issues, please feel free to contact me.
Yes, we sincerely apologize for this issue and truly appreciate your feedback. The problem will be resolved in v4.1.0, which is scheduled for release tomorrow.
My apologies for the delayed response. Our development team has identified the cause based on the logs you submitted:
The logs show that your NSPanel Pro experienced frequent network changes, disconnecting and reconnecting 126 times within a single day. These frequent reconnection attempts led to increased CPU usage, affecting the device’s normal operation. This issue will be optimized in version 4.1.0 (scheduled for release tomorrow). You can try updating to the latest version then.
Meanwhile, we also recommend checking your WiFi settings, as frequent network instability does impact device performance. You can improve the network connection by:
Checking the router’s placement for potential interference. Avoid placing it in corners and keep it away from obstructions.
Reducing the distance between the router and the NSPanel Pro.
Selecting the optimal WiFi channel for the NSPanel Pro.
OK, thanks for explanation. I use repeater, NSPanelPro is connected to extended network. But, I had entered pasword for original network also. For some reason, NSPP connects to original network, but because of weak signal, it goes back to extended network provided by bridge/extender. I have “Forget” original network, so now only one is available.
Thanks for trouble shooting. Will update ASAP, once 4.1 will be available.
@MichaelLearnsToCode If I got it right, version 4.1.0 is dropping today — November 6th. But are we talking lunch o’clock or more like the ‘I’ve already had two snacks and still no release’ kind of evening?
I wanted to ask what the latest stable version is, no matter how much I try to update, I still have version 3.12. (NSPanel120PW), on the eWelnk website I have notes for version 3.20. and before I start solving some bugs, I wanted to update. I assumed that I would get to version 4.xx, what can I do for that? Thank you, I’m starting with the Sonoff/Ewelink system.
