Thank you so much! I saw the update waiting as the software was not showing it was the most current
You may perhaps not recall qhat I said earlier, the challenge I have is that the NS Panel Pro and Pro 120 run from a remote site. And unfortunately I cannot initiate the update remotely until I go to the premises.
.
Hope going forward we will be able to update firmware remotely.
Thanks a lot for your reply! Updates don’t happen that often, so no worries — just update whenever it’s convenient for you. After all, good things are always worth the wait .
@TimiXu Are you considering adding a feature that would allow Zigbee devices connected to NSPanel Pro to be visible on the local network (LAN) and accessible to external systems such as Home Assistant, MQTT, Paral-Sync, or via REST API?
Currently, even in LAN mode, Zigbee devices remain locked inside NSPanel Pro, completely invisible to anything else on the network. The same applies to other Sonoff devices operating in LAN mode. At this point, LAN mode on NSPanel Pro is not particularly useful for anything meaningful.
Introducing such a feature would greatly enhance NSPanel Pro’s value as a local Zigbee coordinator, especially in setups where cloud access is unavailable, whether by choice or by circumstance.
The Open API you mentioned earlier includes the ability to synchronize Zigbee devices on the nspanel pro to the integrator via REST API, not just the nspanel pro itself. I wonder if this information can be of help to you? Of course, we also plan to do more, such as integrating the devices in the nspanel pro and the capabilities of the nspanel pro itself into Home Assistant and similar platforms via MQTT.
@TimiXu Thanks for the reply. No offense, but this feels like a textbook example of diplomatic “maybe someday,” wrapped in a layer of marketing fog
To summarize:
“Open API includes the ability to synchronize Zigbee devices… via REST API” = meaning: in theory, there’s a way to sync Zigbee devices with an external integrator, but it’s unclear:
whether this works in LAN mode
whether the REST API is accessible locally or only via the cloud
whether it exposes full Zigbee entities or just metadata
“Not just the NSPanel Pro itself” - so not only panel data, but maybe Zigbee devices too — again, no specifics.
“We also plan to do more… via MQTT” — meaning: MQTT integration is planned, but:
no timeline
unclear if it’ll be local
unclear if it will include Zigbee
As of now, there is no local access to Zigbee entities from NSPanel Pro. The REST API may exist, but likely depends on the eWeLink cloud. MQTT is on the roadmap, but it’s unknown whether it will publish Zigbee entities.
LAN mode on NSPanel Pro still doesn’t live up to its name. It’s only partially local. I might have expected a bit too much when I bought the NSPanel Pro. Blame it on the official marketing promises. Then came various announcements of upcoming features and exciting new possibilities. No sarcasm intended, but let’s just say they didn’t exactly survive contact with reality.
The panel restarts frequently. LAN devices sometimes go offline, and the same happens with ZigBee and Matter devices. Currently, the thermostat function in nspanel pro is not working. The thermostat cannot be configured in the eWeLink app. There is an error.
“Open API includes the ability to synchronize Zigbee devices… via REST API” meaning we already support manage you zigbee devices with Open API(REST API) below the version 3.12.1.The Document is : https://help.sonoff.tech/docs/NSPanel-Pro-API. But it is not support with the version 4.0.0. This feature will be supported in version 4.0.0 at the latest in early December.
“Not just the NSPanel Pro itself” — Not maybe , already support with 3.12.1. Do you want to know the specific details of the functions that Open API can support? Because I am a technical person, I only pay attention to the above technical documents.
“We also plan to do more… via MQTT” — Sorry, there is no confirmed timeline at the moment, but what is certain is that this feature is indeed a local feature that can connect to HA’s MQTT integrator and does include ZigBee devices.
As of now, …. but it’s unknown whether it will publish Zigbee entities. — The OpenAPI is be local not eWeLink cloud.
I hope the above description can answer your question. If not, please tell me if there is anything unclear.
This restart issue may be related to the Matter device. We are working hard to troubleshoot this issue. Please bear with us for a while.
The NSPanel Pro does have a thermostat function, but I’m not sure if it meets your needs. I’ve sent the operation video to your WhatsApp, you can take a look. Because our device does not have its own temperature sensor, our thermostat function relies on an external temperature sensor connected to the NSPanel Pro.
Thanks for another batch of information. It doesn’t resolve all doubts, but I’m patiently waiting for the latest firmware and the promised changes to become available. Only then will I be able to form a proper opinion. Right now, it would be pure guesswork. Please don’t take my critical stance the wrong way. It’s not meant to upset anyone. I hope you know it
There’s a bug in the thermostat’s accuracy settings: it can’t set decimal values (0.5 * C). Therefore, the settings couldn’t be saved. If I set the values to integers, the thermostat works normally.
Hi, thank you very much for your interest in NSPanel Pro v4.0.x firmware. We have deployed this new firmware for your device. Please check it out through Top drop-down menu -> Settings -> About on your NSPanel Pro.
Hi there! Based on valuable user feedback, we’ve just released the optimized v4.0.7 today, which includes the following fixes and improvements:
Added support for MINI-RBS
Fixed remote temperature/humidity source issue for TRV
Resolved control abnormalities with some third-party Zigbee devices
Fixed device card list display issues in certain time zones
Improved UI display for temperature and humidity devices
*After upgrading, please verify that both Settings → APP Version and OS Version show 4.0.7. If not, please continue the upgrade process.
If you encounter any issues, feel free to report them in this post at any time. We will address your concerns promptly or release a fix as needed. Thank you for your continued support of NSPanel Pro!
Will you also add the possibilities for temperature calibration?
What do you mean by temperature calibration? You mean temperature calibration for specific Zigbee device, like SNZB-02P/02D? Or you mean the temperature calibration function of Zigbee devices exported to Home Assistant?
I assume that the NSPanel Pro is displaying actual ambient temperature and not the temperature from web based weather forecasts. If that is the case, we need an option to be able to calibrate the temperature it is displaying, just like what exists in the NsPanel. Let me give you an example.
Injist looked at my NsPanel Pro that is installed just next to a Sonoff Tempefature and humidity sensor. While the Sonoff T&H is reporting 29 degrees C, the Panel Pro is reporting 30 Decgrees C.
On the current situation, I would.like to be able to calibrate its temperature readings to be similar to other temperature sensors near it.
