NS Panel Pro Thermostat problems

Hey guys, I noticed there is an industry standard called OpenTherm, which is a multi point to point communication protocol for use in residential climate control. Now the OpenTherm Association has more than 100 members and many of them manufacture Thermostat and Boiler. OpenTherm claims its protocol provides much better control over the boiler, not just ON/OFF, but also temperature, output power, etc.

My questions are:

  • Are OpenTherm compatible boilers widely available in your country?
  • Is ON/OFF good enough to control boiler in Central Heating system?

Maybe I didn’t explain myself right. I know - and I did - paired an SNZB-02P to the TRVZB. But I can’t add them as the dedicated Thermostat screen for the NSPanel Pro. Instead, I have to use the Devices screen, find the TRVZB widget, long-press it (not even just click it), and only then access its settings. In my opinion, it’d be much more convinient if we can just add the TRVZB as the Thermostat.

I’m not sure, but as far as I’m aware, the manufacturer of my boiler (Worcester, which are quite common in the UK) doesn’t support it, but some models can use a different modulation system called EMS, and OpenTherm to EMS adapters are apparently available. The idea of OpenTherm makes sense, but it may not see widespread use for a while since boilers tend to last a long time, and they’re expensive to replace.

For my circumstances, yes. If my boiler directly supported OpenTherm, I’d use it, but I’m not sure that it even supports EMS.

Unknown concept in my country. I have never done it either. It is always done according to the drawings above.

@demonizator Thank you for the detailed explanation.

Regarding adding the TRVZB as a dedicated thermostat, this is a great suggestion. We have begun evaluating it with the development team and have included it in our future development roadmap.

Concerning the need to long-press the device widget to access settings, this optimization is also in our version plan.

We are actively working on these items and aim to implement these features in a future release. We appreciate your valuable feedback.

Great, thank you, @JoJo!

Buna ziua.

Hi, @mof85ova
Thank you for your feedback and suggestion. We have added this optimization to our plan, and it will be supported in the v4.3.0 update.

Hey guys, we plan to release an alpha version of the Central Heating System this week, most likely this Friday. Would you like to help us test it? If so, please send me the Device ID of your NSPanel Pro device. I’ll arrange a targered OTA for your NSPanel Pro.

Absolutely! Bare in mind, my setup is two “simple” sets of only TRVZB and SNZB-02P

I can try, 1001ea2a11

Yes please.

Sorry, I cannot test it right now. My heating system changed, so I control only TRVZB valves now. I have no need to use Thermostat - at least at the moment.

That’s fine, no worries.

Sorry for the confusion. The reason that the actuator isn’t turned off when you press the Disable button of the heating thermostat is most likely because the Selected Actuator State is set to Keep, not OFF.

You can change the behaviour through eWeLink App -> NSPanel Pro -> Themostats -> [the one you created] -> Settings (top right corner) -> Selected Actuator State.

What do you mean by reference range? The target temperature adjustment step length? Which is already 0.5 degree Celsius. The Temp. Accuracy in thermostat settings? You can change ±1 to ±0.5 if you prefer.

Merhaba

Uzun zamandır kullanıyorum tüm ayarlarına hakimim. Söylediğiniz tüm ayarları yaptım ama yine kararsız çalışıyor ama düzeltileceğini düşünüyorum.

En fazla - 0,5C° +0,5C°=1C° oluyor. ±-0,2C° olsa daha konforlu olur.

İyi çalışmalar.

Sorry for the issue. Would you please submit a log on the NSPanel Pro device through Top drop-down menu -> Settings -> About -> Feedback -> Submit. The best timing is right after you notice the error.

Got it. v4.3.0 which will be released on January 8th 2026 will support this.

Note: you will also need eWeLink app v5.23.0 which will be released on the same day to make it work.

I believe we will all be satisfied after all the improvements.
