NS Panel Pro Thermostat problems

4.3.0 It has terrible button controls on the panel. When I want to turn on the light, I have to press the small icon in the button precisely. Otherwise, an annoying table appears where I have to turn on the light via a small switch.

What do you mean by "I would welcome a simple addition to trzvb, because now it’s nuclear physics. "?

With the new function, which I found for the first time in 4.2.3, it allows me to manage 7 thermostatic valves at best and I’m afraid of losing this fluidity of operation with 4.3.0

Before they can be used in a central heating system, they must be added to the surface. Otherwise it is not possible and there are already posts on how to connect trzvb and central heating systen. Hopefully they will at least create a guide that will help to properly set up the central heating system and trzvb.

Do you also use dry contact or just open the valves?

The configuration isn’t intuitive, but if you look at the posts from a few days ago, you’ll see I’ve gotten help from other users; otherwise, I don’t think I would have succeeded. My configuration includes 7 TRVBZs connected to NSPANEL PRO 120 and a ZBMINIR2 connected to a monostable relay (this way, everything works locally).

Are you happy with your central heating system? I know one user was helped with the settings. But there will be others who will not be helped and will be disappointed.

I’m very satisfied with the central heating system. I’ve always had some issues with previous firmware versions, which now seem to be resolved. Version 4.2.3 seems so stable and functional that I’m afraid to upgrade to 4.3.0. I’ve tried to offer some suggestions regarding the central heating system. In particular, I think they should simplify the configuration (which is very cumbersome). You can’t set a name for the TRVBZs; they take the name of the room where they are located (this forced me to create several rooms unnecessarily). Finally, once configured, you can’t sort the TRVBZs; they appear as inserted.

If you look at the older posts, I was the one who started pushing for this positive change. Then the members of this community came together and together we achieved this adjustment. Without this community I could not have done it and we are lucky that Sonoff is open to great ideas. I have a few ideas before configuring the central heating system. Which should help users of trzvb valves.

I also thought about underfloor heating users and presented a detailed guide on how I do it. Those who use underfloor heating would be happy to have it. I will not describe the details, it is my gift to all of us.

If they decide they’re not interested, I’ll post the instructions on this forum. I managed to get version 4.3.0 but I don’t like the flat control, it’s a step backwards. I’ve criticized it here several times.

I didn’t know you were the author of all this, and it’s really important, so thank you.

I applaud Sonoff for listening to user feedback to try to improve their products and firmware. Please explain what you don’t like about 4.3.0.

I’m evaluating the update, so I’d love to hear your opinion. Thanks.

I proposed it but it wouldn’t have happened without the community. Several people said they needed it just like I wrote. So it’s our joint work.

What is it about the flat control that you don’t like in 4.3.0?

Today I will be critical. The icons are really nice, but controlling the M5 switches through the icons on the desktop is very inconvenient. In the old version I could press anywhere and it would turn on. Now I have to press the icon exactly to turn on the light, if I don’t press it, a table like in the picture appears. This is very inconvenient.

OK, that’s clear to me. I don’t actually use NSPANEL to control the devices, I use 8-inch tablets, so everything is simpler.

Can you send me the type of tablet? I’ve been waiting for 4 months for them to fix the iHost bug that prevents me from using matter bridge. I’m already thinking about throwing the nspp pro in the trash and controlling the house via tablets.

I use two 8-inch Amazon Fire tablets, which are very responsive but do their job, and I didn’t pay much for them. Unfortunately, they’re no longer available in Italy, at least. From firsthand experience, I can tell you that any tablet will do; I much prefer Android.

@p.silhan @demonizator Hi, a dedicated version 4.3.2 has been deployed for your device. You can now proceed with the upgrade. If you encounter any issues, please feel free to contact me.

Hi guys, my nspanel has crossed without any relevant issue trough all the software versions up to 4.2.2, now I’d like to move to 4.3.0, but I read about issues with thermostat feature and zigbee devices, since my nspanel is currently driving my entire house heating, taking advantage of zigbee thermal sensors and relays and here is full winter, I’m feared about becoming cold dead after the upgrade.

Can someone suggest me what to do? Upgrade or wait for a while?

Thanks,

Thank you, @Milk. I successfully updated my device. I will report about the disconnect/Zigbee issues at least after four hours - usually this was how long after restart these isues were appearing. Here’s about the other issues:

The ā€˜ghost’ Purifier still appears on my Thermostat screen. Again, I don’t have such device in my setup.

One of my two TRVZBs still goes into Boost mode after restart. The other one doesn’t.

The physical TRVZB closes after reaching the set temperature but eWeLink app still shows it as opened/heating. Also, many times the physical TRVZB changes target temperature according schedules, but eWeLink app still shows the previous set temperature.

I’ve submitted feedback after the successfull update. In eWeLink app, I removed the Thermostat screen, and did another restart. After the restart, the Thermostat screen was automatically enabled again and the ā€˜ghost’ Purifier appeared once again. The affected TRVZB was put in Boost mode again. So I submitted another feedback.

I would strongly suggest to stay away from 4.3.x for now, especially if you rely on your NSPanel for heating and temperature monitoring your entire house and/or rely on other Zigbee sensors or devices. It has been a nightmare for me for the last few nights when I have my alarms set every two hours to check temperatures and adjust heating, especially in my kid’s room. If this new 4.3.2 update doesn’t fix these issues, tomorrow I’m removing my TRVZBs and installing the ā€˜dumb’ valves again, so I can at least set them at 20-30% for the night just to be safe. And get some sleep..

Wait.

Although the most anticipated for me update turned out to be a nightmare, I have no hard feelings for the developers team. In my opinion, they are putting so much efforts in listening to us, improving our devices, helping with issues - and with pretty good pace. We all should remember that we are a part of beta testing program after all.
