I gave myself the right to try to summarize my observations (which I read on this forum) regarding the expectations of users from eWeLink and Sonoff in the popular period.
I would ask everyone to give concrete and realistic proposals for the improvement of eWeLink - Sonoff, as well as the representatives of eWelink and Sonoff to declare the possibility of their realization with a time frame.
Continued development of eWeLink app and Sonoff devices in terms of expanding the functionality of existing ones and expanding support in terms of Matter
- Stability and full software support of new products (read software and device testing before market release) IMPORTANT!!!
Add Backup function for iHost
Add location-managed scenes to the eWelink app
Added option to enable/disable status bar for web view in NSPanel Pro
Add an option in NSPanel Pro to be able to call from panel to mobile, not just from panel to panel
Optimize the eWeLink CUBE interface on phone screens
All POW Devices add Voltage Graph & Unit Rate
Put on the market a device that will enable remote control (IR, RF, Bluetooth) as well as the possibility of supporting TV, air conditioning and other devices that use the above communications
ā¦
I agree with the statements of the eWelink team that it takes a lot of work and effort as well as the question of profitability, especially when you depend on a third party.
However, I think that at the start it could start in the sense that the device should initially support:
Google (Android) TV, FireTV - I think the support for these devices is the simplest
A few of the worldās biggest brands, for example LG, Philips, Sonyā¦, as far as TVs are concerned, and a few brands as far as air conditioners are concerned, for example Midea, Daikin, Greeā¦
It is also necessary to enable the user to ālearnā the device himself.
In the beginning, it would be a small step, but in time, step by step, it would be a serious base.
To access the devices that are on iHost, unfortunately, you have to use a browser, you cannot from the application.
Yes you are right, the remote control seems useless in the eWeLink cloud. Maybe turn on the air conditioner before you get home:))) although this has been overcome.
I see its application locally, in order to avoid the use of many remote ones and enable the automation of certain things.
This can be done via the HomeKit Alexa or Google Home platform. Removing Alexa, depending on your platform, would be the easiest way.
As I said in other posts, the idea of iHost is to be an intelligent bridge for the most used platforms and it fulfills this with Apple Homekit, Alexa and Google. I understand the need for interface optimization because not everyone has a PC to configure things.
As the friend posted, these requests already exist and they have to gain votes to rise in the developersā priority.
As well as integrating with TV systems, etcā¦ There are already topics with these themes awaiting voting.
Itās not as simple as it looks; give it a search, and you will see there arenāt many smart home apps on Android TV. I didnāt even find Google Home on older Chromecast with Google TV dongle.
We get such features would contribute to accessibility, but compared with the core ability upgrade, their priorities are still low at the moment.
We will definitely look into such optimization when CUBE is ready.
