Managing iHost docker containers through Portainer

Hello

Would it possible to manage iHost docker containers through Portainer?

Maybe by exposing docker.sock file /var/run/docker.sock or Docker API from the iHost Docker instance.
(I have no idea whether exposing these is enough).

I managed to run a Portainer container in iHost, the idea would be to try to manage iHost docker containers through it to have more flexibility.

Thanks

Can you see other Docker compose items installed in Ihost Docker?

I need the same, but I doubt that anyone from sonoff will move his finger to do that. Every day I become more and more disappointed of iHost.

Hey

There’s no option to create and manage containers except for the WebUI. If you really need advanced management of docker services. I would recommend you use alternative installations like Docker Desktop.

So basically you’re suggesting me to throw off iHost because it’s useless for me and use something else!
Lack of basic functionality for your sensors:

  • for thermostats: no child control, no percentage of opening the valve,
  • for smart plugs: no trigger events for power consumption.
No passibility to expose iHost to internet:
  • CAST is protected only with 4 digit pin, api is not secured,
  • no mobile view for iHost cube.
For all this I have to use and ZBridge (which I was thinking to replace with iHost) and I’m trying to figure out how iHost to be of any use for me through docker, and you offering me to use Desktop instead!
Thank you for your advice! I’ll get rid of iHost and use something else!
