Issues Connecting Sonoff Remote Controller - 433MHz to Mini R4

Hi everyone,

I’m having some trouble setting up my new Mini R4 with a Sonoff Remote Controller (433MHz). Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  1. In the eWeLink app, I navigate to Mini R4 → Device Settings → eWeLink-Remote Sub-devices.
  2. I click the “+” button to add a sub-device.
  3. No matter which buttons I press on the remote controller, nothing happens.

I’ve tested with two different Sonoff remote controllers, but neither works.

Interestingly, I also tried adding a Sonoff SwitchMan R5W (which, as I understand, uses the same configuration method), and that worked perfectly fine.

Am I missing something, or could there be an issue with compatibility or the remotes themselves?

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The mini R4 uses the ewelink Remonte protocol, which is a different technology than what you need for 433 pairing, you would need a separate gateway for that.
