iHost itself uses 5V2A adapter for the main power input. Insufficient power supply could be the first issue iHost counters even if we open up the feature. If you had experience with such an enclosure, you may find it drops for some devices like phones or consumes too much battery, heating up fast.
Resolved , new card … fresh out of the box worked.

Getting old & cranky.
No problem here I have it plugged into a 5 amp USB, cord will probably melt first.
I have used 10w power usb (5V-2A} with firmware 2.0.0 and TF card 128gb sandisk extreme but is impossible to format card.
Please solve problem !!!
If I were starting again I’d use an SSD. They’re more reliable, much faster and not expensive. You get powered USB hubs so concerns about power from the iHost would not influence the decision. With only 1 USB port I’d be adding a USB hub anyway. Would just need to make sure it was a powered one. I had a TF/SD card fail on a Home Assistant set up and it was a massive pain even though they have a better backup system.
I had read your solution… but I didn’t understand how it is possible to connect an SSD (with which interface?) to the FD/SD port.
I haven’t found any SSDs with FD/SD interface.
Hello everyone. What is the card format? xfat or ext?
EXT4 - all folders are with hidden attribute.
I just replaced MicroSD card in my iHost so I was curious how are the data organised on that old card.
I did some test when I got my iHost about a year back when some cards did not want to work.
a solution that seemed to work on all my SD cards ( assorted manufacturers including SanDisk) was to use a partition manger ( I used MiniTool Partition wizard FREE ) . then delete all the partitions and then create a EXT4 partition on the full SD card and format it for EXT4 then iHost seems to pick it up every time and format it to its specified formats ( witch is FAT16 , EXT4 Data Partition and some normal EXT4 partitions and then it works
