I have the same SSID for two WLAN,s: Main router in channnel 1 and wired AP in channel 11. Devices can connect to any ot the two WLAN,s. I see some devices connected to main router WLAN are not shown in EWELINK, and fail to playy scenes, but they are registered in WLAN. ¿What happens? Ewelink onlyy work well in ONE WLAN? I have two with the same SSID. I do NOT have isolated any WLAN
You’re running a solid Wi-Fi setup with your main router on channel 1 and a wired access point (AP) on channel 11, both broadcasting the same SSID. This configuration creates a unified network and minimizes channel interference in the 2.4 GHz band.
While the network supports roaming, devices decide when to roam. And some, especially older or simpler ones, may cling to weaker signals. To support smoother transitions between access points, both your router and AP should be configured carefully:
- Use the same SSID, password, and security settings.
- Set non-overlapping channels (like 1 and 11 for 2.4 GHz).
- Disable DHCP on the AP, so only your main router should assign IP addresses.
- Assign a static IP to the AP outside the DHCP range for easy management.
- Optionally adjust transmit power to fine-tune coverage overlap.
- If available, enable 802.11k/v/r roaming protocols on both devices for smarter handoffs. Remember that most IoT devices can’t roam.
I have observed all rules (except last) I con not find in my router. The problem is with SONOFF BULBS B05-BL. I have many S60 devices and NEVER have any trouble. NOW, I have one bulb in my WLAN not being seen by EWELINK. I have ASUS RT-AX82U as main router in channel 1. AP is ASUS RT-AX57 with fixed IP in channel 11. All IOT device hace fixed IP.
PERHAPS these SONOFF bulbs firmware upgrade could solve this, as I see this issue onlyy with these devices -with it,s last firmware-
I confirm some SONOFF bulbs in WLAN, when WLAN is divided between main router and sacondary AP -in AP mode- not AI MESH, are registered in WLAN but OFFLINE in EWELINK and fail to run scenes but are ONLINE… ¿FIRMWARE UPGRADE??? WLAN SSID and PW is the same, but on 1 and 11 channel
Please advice about WIFI settingas as:
-
Rotation interval key: Put ZERO value can cause stability and no disconections
-
Protected Management Frames CAPABLE OR REQUIRED for SONOFF WIFI DEVICES???
@SONOFF-Staff Please jump in and take a look
Why do you even want to tweak your router’s WiFi settings? Unless you know exactly what you’re doing, it’s more likely to cause further problems. Just leave the defaults, your Asus will handle things fine without the extra drama.
I make changes AFTER devices dissapperar from EWELINK
