Is it possible to use Sonoff ZB Bridge-P as a coordinator/router in iHost?
Zigbee coordinators and Zigbee routers are two different things. Here is the detailed explanation.
Any iHost acts as a Zigbee coordinator, so there’s no need for an additional one. Using the ZBBridge P as a router is like hiring a Michelin-starred chef to butter your toast—technically possible, but wildly excessive. Almost any mains-powered Zigbee device can handle the job, so unless you enjoy over-the-top networking luxury, you might want to save the ZBBridge P for more dignified duties.
I am currently using two Bridge-P in ewelink app and I have an old version of ZB Bridge (without P). And I would like to use this old version as a router in i-host?
Is it possible?
It is possible but it requires custom firmware. It is anything but a simple procedure. If you have no experience and understanding, it’s better to let this concept go and use something else.
By the way, it is not ‘in iHost’. Any router works with a Zigbee network it is connected to.
Thanks. I wil try
I successfully flashed zbbridge, but it does not connect to ihost. I began to doubt whether it can connect to ihost and be used as a router?
I gave you a piece of advice: If you have no experience and understanding, it’s better to let this concept go and use something else.
Now read this tutorial.
To gain experience, you need to try. I will try and learn. Thanks for the help.
Sure thing! But it’s better to be safe than sorry. That’s why I said “it’s better to…”
Good luck!
The device was successfully added to the ihost, but it was added as a wifi device. I’m trying to add it as zigbee, but ihost can’t find a new zigbee device.
Have you seen this tutorial? Because you need to enable the ability for the reset button to be used for pairing procedure.
Interesting. Try the Discord Chat and ask what to do now.
I also.have a Zigbee P that I no longer use. Sonoff could update them.with similar firmware they used to.update the NS Panel.Pro.. that firmware can convert them.to routers.
