Hello! It would be great if we have an option to backup Zigbee devices, so we can import it after a factory reset. Can You implement it?
I proposed this function but with the understanding that it could also be imported into another gateway.
Hello, that’s a great idea. May I ask in what scenario you need this feature? Because a factory reset means you want to reset all settings — if you don’t need to, you don’t have to do it.
I also agree with Jojkoba’s idea: backing up data or migrating sub-devices to another bridge might be more common.
There are a lot of users who have more than 40 devices. When we want to transfer devices and scenes to a new gateway, we have to set up and pair everything again.
This is a strong argument for why we don’t buy newer gateways from you.
Automatic backup, recovery and the ability to move devices and scenes to another device is a important option.
I am using the beta version, but I had to rollback to the stable because of some bugs. After the reset I had to re-pair all devices. The backup file what is compatible with other systems, like Homa Assistant Zigbee2mqtt or other Sonoff device is also good idea.
Are you currently experiencing any bugs during usage? Please send me the issue description and logs first. Performing a factory reset due to bugs is indeed an operation that should not happen. Regarding the need for data backup, I will forward this request to our team for further discussion on a specific solution.
My first Nspanel pro was the 86 version and it has been set as a Zigbee gateway with about 45 sub devices on it.
I added 2 Nspanel pro 120 set as Zigbee router and would like to upgrade the 86 gateway into an 120 version to. But due to the idea that I have to manually connect all 45 Zigbee devices again, and edit a ton of scenes stop me from replacing it.
A way to backup the Zigbee gateway and restore it to a new device would be fantastic.
This topic has been opened again. May I know what you considered about my proposal for backing up scenes and added zb devices, with the possibility of moving them, for example, from NSPP to NSPP?!
I’m glad you joined my proposal. I’ve suggested this several times in the past and backed it up with arguments as to why they need to do it.
It will then be possible to move the backup, for example, from NSPP to a new NS Pro?
