Alexa lost settings after changing country + Matter iHost pairing issue + Sonoff Mini R4 not showing as trigger

Hello everyone,

I recently discovered that my Alexa account was set to the US region, which prevented me from using certain Italian skills. To enable them, I had to change my country in the Alexa settings. However, after doing so, Alexa lost all its previous settings, including device connections.

Now, I am facing two main issues:

  1. Alexa-Echo won’t pair with iHost via Matter
  • When I try to link Alexa Echo with iHost through Matter, Alexa keeps asking for the numerical pairing code. It spins for a while, then asks for the code again in a loop.
  • I have tried restarting devices, resetting connections, and ensuring everything is on the same network, but the issue persists.
  1. Sonoff Mini R4 and other devices appear only as “actions” in Alexa Routines, not as “triggers”
  • Before changing the country, I was able to use my Sonoff Mini R4 (and other devices) as both triggers and actions in Alexa Routines.
  • Now, they only show up as actions, meaning I cannot use them to start routines.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it? Could it be related to the region change, or are there additional settings I need to adjust?

Thanks in advance for any help!

remove matter bridge from alexa and re-pair ihost with alexa.

Thanks. How? There is no matter bridge under Alexa right now.

If you do not have Alexa added in the ihost matter bridge menu.

Then unplug the ihost and matter hub Alexa. Wait a minute and plug it back in. Re-add the ihost to Alexa.

Just a thought - do you use the iPhone?
If so this keeps the Matter pairing information which should be reset in your case. Can be deleted on the iHost Matter screen.

Android

Done. It doesn’t work.

But can’t add ihost matter bridge to Amazon Echo?

Ihost is not linked to Alexa. I turned off both of them for several minutes. Then tried to connect them via matter without success

Is there an error during pairing?

When you search for matter devices in echo, does it find the ihost matter bridge?

Are ihost and echo on the same WiFi network?

No error. Alexa asks me for the QR code or the Number, I insert it (one or the other) and then, after few seconds, it asks again. And again and again…

Same wifi network.

If I put ihost under pairing mode and search for matter devices Alexa doesn’t find it.
