Matter Hub & Bridge Query

I have a number of MINIR4M switches that I’ve had connected to the iHost using the eWelink Smart Home Plugin. These are visible in iHost and I have Alexa paired to iHost using the Matter Bridge so the devices are also visible on Alexa. They aren’t paired to Alexa directly over Matter.

MINIR4M → Ewelink → Ewelink Smart Home → IHost → Alexa

I deleted one of the MINIR4M device from ewelink and after enabling the new Matter Hub on iHost I’ve paired the device over matter to the iHost. I can see and control the device on iHost BUT the device isn’t visible on Alexa. On the Matter bridge it’s marked as a ‘Not supported’ device.

MINIR4M → Matter Bridge → Ihost -X Alexa

Question : Will the MINIR4M be supported through the Hub and Bridge to Alexa when the full hub functionality is implemented ?

OR

Will it be necessary to pair the MINIR4M with IHost and also pair it directly to Alexa as well?

MINIR4M is a native Matter device, you can pair it directly with iHost and Alexa without any bridges at the same time.

For non-Matter features, use the eWeLink app to further configure them.

For Matter devices like the MINIR4M I’d prefer to only pair once with ihost. If you have 10 devices, with Alexa and Homekit, you would need to pair 30 times.

Matter devices must be paired separately with each platform. In this case, the ihost matter Bridge cannot be used.

If you only have MINIR4M devices, add them to ihost via the ewelink smart home add-on and then use the ihost matter Bridge to pair with Alexa.
