Wifi/zigbee with IHost

hello, I’m still thinking in our next automation set up. I would like to use a IHost with zigbee and wifi devices. I read that could be some interference and thus need to adjust some settings on the router. does the IHost already have these parameters installed? can we use both technology without any interferences/issues?thank you.

What do you have on mind?

I try to collect infos, and then read a couple of article, look this one : ZigBee and Wi-Fi Coexistence | MetaGeek

problem of overlapping …

we do not have a lot of zigbee and wifi users here in Thailand, so quit new for us…

You are unnecessarily worried. It happens, but these are specific cases. Simply place the iHost about 1m away from the WiFi router.

One thing to bear in mind is that Sonoff Wi-Fi devices even with LAN enabled do need access to the Internet/ eWeLink Cloud for some features to work. So if you are planning a set up to be used without an internet connection you will find that they only work as ‘Slaves’ - they can be controlled from iHost but for example the push button switch on a Sonoff Basic Wi Fi Switch will toggle the device output ON/ OFF but its status will not change in iHost and it does not trigger iHost eWeLink scenes if its status is in the ‘IF’ of a Scene.

Mine do, and I have desinstalled the eWelink app.
Will try desconnecting the Internet fibre to the router when I get a moment, and I’ll get back.

Wifi is stronger, but Zigbee meshes. I have previously set Zigbee and Wifi channels not to clash but not sure it matters if you have a strong Zigbee mesh. Just make sure you have some powered Zigbee devices to make your Zigbee network strong and not everything trying to directly connect to the iHost. The mapping option on the iHost doesn’t do a good job of showing how good your mesh is.

Gentlemen, with all due respect, your opinions are not necessarily true. The reality is different. Please, do not mislead because your knowledge seems to be insufficient. Furthermore, the original question was about something else. Thank you very much

@Leader In exactly what way is this blog post inappropriate? And is it appropriate to mislead other users by publishing conjecture and opinions that have little to do with facts?

To what end exactly?

That is very smug.

You very rarely say anything that is correct but I don’t correct you. You are wrong again here.

Why not? You should if you have arguments. It doesn’t hurt to learn from the best.

I have no respect for you and rarely read your r posts. The only thing to learn from you is How to talk nonsense.

@eerke @jam3 Easy guys, no need to squabble when helping others.

There you are! I should now report or flag your post as offensive. I won’t do that because other participants have their wits and surely will draw their own conclusions.
There’s a hint. You can set to hide my posts if they hurt your ego so badly. Best of luck and cheers :man_shrugging:

I agree. I made a mistake.as I never normally read a Jam3 post and will ensure I never do again.

as i read above you want an option to adjust wifi and zigbee channels at ihost ? as of now maybe you can try 3rd party app to check if there is any interference at your network , i faced any issue few days ago and the only solution was multiple reboot until the network gets stable again

Just a simple demonstration, so the OP is not confused by your post.

Two retro lamps of mine controlled both by Sonoff Basic switches.
This scene on the iHost runs locally with
NO INTERNET
NO EWELINK APP

Also reflects state on iHost UI
@alan-racheter I can only think you have another issue. :man_shrugging:
