Upgrade nspanelpro to 4.9.3 release removed all zigbee devices

Previously zigbee devices went offline each few seconds and back online, after the upgrade they complete disappeared

I’ve had the exact same experience; once again, the devices connected via the NSPanel’s Zigbee hub have stopped working. Now more updates will come along and break even more things, and we’ll just keep hearing that they’re “working on it”… then Chinese holidays will roll around, and nothing will get done for a month…

Since it’s a recurring issue where updates do more harm than good—and nothing works 100% reliably for most of the year—I decided before the heating season started to migrate the devices essential for the house’s operation to Home Assistant, while leaving some secondary ones in eWeLink… That was a mistake—a huge mistake; after this update, everything left on Zigbee (Ewelink NS Panel) stopped working. Fortunately, the heating is already managed by HA, and I’d recommend you do the same. Everything runs beautifully under HA.
This latest major screw-up will only speed up the completion of my migration to HA; even the NSPanel 120 can have its firmware flashed to turn it into a useful device within HA.

That said, Sonoff devices are actually great and work well—but under HA, not eWeLink…

I had to re pair all of them and resync to home assistant, now they seem got back to work, but it was very annoying.

Nevertheless I suspect thermostat is not working now, before the update if I switched on manually the action device thermostat immediatly switch it back off becase the temperature was over the configured threshold, now it remains switched on forever

Update

Removing a configuring back all the thermostats seems to have been restored functionality, but I’m a little worried for when outside temperature will drop down and thermostats start to be on duty, I’m prepared to move them to home assistant

That’s VERY annoying

The intermittent functionality—and very frequent malfunction—of the thermostats and radiator valve controls under NS and eWeLink caused several near-disasters that were only averted thanks to an external safety cutoff. The system was non-functional for most of the heating season. That was the main reason I migrated to Home Assistant (HA). Just imagine if this happened in the dead of winter…
I’m tired of constantly checking, constantly fixing, and constantly waiting for the product I paid for to actually do what I bought it for.

With HA, everything works—and if something doesn’t, you can quickly find a community guide. Notifications and status updates are instantaneous. I don’t want any more mishaps this year; I just want the home to run smoothly so I can enjoy the comfort.

Be extremely careful regarding the behavior of thermostats and radiator valve controls under NS and eWeLink! Relying on them is genuinely dangerous—for instance, if a valve fails to open while the boiler fires up, or if the boiler doesn’t shut off after the target temperature is reached and the valves close…

At first, I thought the problem lay with Sonoff hardware, but that’s not the case; the products themselves are good—the issue is NS and eWeLink.

Unfortunatelly I am not skilled enough to build HA infrastructure from scratch. :frowning:

But I have also moved all my zigbee device under the ZBBridgePro, which made network much more stable.

Reconstruction project is almost at finish line, so I will then prepare whole system for the winter. And I am affraid of it, because whole house will relay only on eWeLink, with no permanent occupation.

Hi, did your sub-devices disappear after upgrading to version 4.9.0? Were only some of them affected, or did all of them disappear?

Please submit the NSPanel Pro logs when you have a chance, and I’ll check them as soon as possible.

Hi Mik,

after upgrading to 4.9.3 from 4.9.2 all zigbee subdevices disappeared and I had to re pair them again manually, one after another, subdevices themselves I suppose they never realize they were offline, or maybe they were in fact still paired and for some reason they simply disappeared form nspanel devices list.

I’ve just sent the logs, deviceid is 10023a8391

Thanks,

I’ll review the logs as soon as possible and get back to you promptly.

Hi Milk,

this is mainly for you, in order to find what happened, I’ve already restored (hopefully) all the functionalities by re pairing all the devices and removing/reconfiguring thermostats, as well as removing old entities on home assistant.

I started the 4.9.3 update and waited 10 minutes (screen frozen). After cutting the power and restarting, the update was installed. My Zigbee devices have disappeared, though…

Feedback submitted. 2026-10-02 09:00:50 Deviceid: 10023a81f5

Correction: update 4.9.3 was not installed. I reverted to version 4.9.2, and after restarting, my Zigbee devices reappeared. Update 4.9.3 is no longer being offered.

Hi, have you used SonoffLAN before? The missing sub-device issue may have been related to this integration.

We’ve now made some optimizations on our side, so after re-adding the sub-devices, you should no longer encounter this issue.

If the problem happens again, please send me a message and I’ll check it as soon as possible.

For some reasons, the 4.9.x versions have been temporarily suspended. This is also why you haven’t received the 4.9.3 update. Users who have already upgraded are not affected. Once the holiday is over, we plan to release a new version again.

Regarding the missing sub-device issue, are you also using SonoffLAN? If so, it may be related to a known issue that has now been resolved.

You can keep an eye on it and see whether the issue occurs again. If it does, please submit the NSPanel Pro logs and contact me, and I’ll check it as soon as possible.

Yes, I have Sonofflan on the latest release, but I thought that 4.9.3 should have solved issues with sonofflan, anyway, after re pairing devices, re configuring thermostats and a long cleanup job on home assistant all seems working fine now
