Tuya Luminance CB3S Sensor on iHost

Hi everyone. Does anyone knows if there is a way to make iHost display luminance info for this tuya sensor? It is Zigbee 3.0 and I could add it to iHost, but it does not show any info for the sensor. I am using the iHost 2.4.2 that apparently does support luminance sensors.

I don’t know this sensor but I have various Tuya sensors (presence) that gave me a similar problem and also would not integrate with my Smartthings hub.
In the end I bought a Tuya hub ( miniature and around 10€) and used a Node-red integration in iHost.

So you added the tuya hub to connect the sensors (via zigbee) to the ihost wifi and integrate with node red on the ihost itself right? ihost in this case is only running the node red, not interacting with tuya hub, is that the case?

Yes. I use the [node-red-contrib-tuya-devices] node (GitHub - simeonovp/node-red-contrib-tuya-devices: Support for Tuya devices in SmartHome projects using Node-RED. The goal of the project is to allow using local devices supports Tuya in Node-Red). Takes a bit of patience to set up ( as in most Tuya integrations you need to sign up as developer) but I then use MQTT to make Node-red routines while I still have it on the Smartlife app to change any settings.

Hello,
Illumination is working on ihost.
I have tuya presence sensor with Illumination measurements. Work well. Same for cast.

Yes, I have several of these (earlier model without illuminance) and they work perfectly - but they are motion sensors, not presence.

ok! this sensor can solve my problem for illumination. thanks

I’ll try it. Thank you

Exact not presence with radar. Only PIR.
Other option is to use SONOFF SNZB-06P presence sensor with Illumination sensor but we cannot access to the measurements. You can only use it by setting scenes who taken account the luminance.

The hardware does NOT contain a lux meter.

Hello

I have tested these sensors in the i-HOST scenes and they work perfectly.

They have been paired with the i-HOST without any problem, without any other requirements.

The only defect I have found is in the i-HOST CAST.

Specifically in the graphical representation of the units of the vertical axis or abscissa, that is, the lux, since the units that appear are “mm/h” when the operations log shows the lux correctly. (See below)

I think that in the subject of the graphical representations of the I-HOST CAST there are quite a few defects to improve, since there are still devices that do not present the data in the graphs as in the case of the S60TPF.

While in the eWeLink App the same data is shown.

The issue with unit like mm/h is in discussion in another topic.
On the previous version of ihost cast working with S60TPF. I remember that I reply with graph in another topic (Dec 20 2024). Now doesnt work.

Hello.

I have the same detector and illumination is not working with iHost.

As said by @john.e.dixon before on the discussion, there are 2 versions of the device. The old one doesn’t have the Illumination function. Check if it’s your problem.

The sensor version that has PIR and also light measurement, after pairing with the i-HOST, should appear as in the following screenshot. It is very likely that your device is only of the PIR type.

Ok, i will check it. Thanks

Hi Adams, I got the same sensor and it showed on iHost. But for some reason I do not know, it showed illuminance value when it was added and it never updated it again. Motion sensor also showed activity for the first time and then never again. And yes, the sensor is online on iHost. Is there a refresh period config somewhere I am not aware of? I turned the sensor off and on again, with no success…

Hi, strange. Try to remove the device and add it again.
Check if it use the last version. 8.3 for me.

So, my version is crazy, as you can see, but removing and reconnecting solved the problem.

The only issue remaing is that I can only read de lux value when a movement is detected. According to the manual it can be changed via tuya app, but for that I understand that I need tuya bridge. And I am not sure this config will survive a reconnection to iHost after it beeing connected to tuya bridge. Have you done somthing like that?

I think not, can’t be sure but with Tuya presence sensors I have it wouldn’t. In the end had to buy a small cheap Tuya zigbee hub and bring it into the iHost with MQTT.
