Why do devices “switch” between Wi-Fi and LAN icons? The Wi-Fi icon indicates that the device is communicating via the cloud. The LAN icon appears when the app detects a local network connection. If the app is closed and reopened, it may “refresh” the connection and switch to LAN. Sometimes, devices don’t emit complete data (e.g., signal strength) in LAN mode, which can lead to incorrect status indicators.
From what you described, the device goes through three status changes: online → offline → LAN.
When the device shows as offline, it means it has temporarily lost its cloud connection. If this frequent disconnection has only started recently, or has it always been like this? I suggest you submit a support ticket via the in-app “Help&Feedback” channel(Go eWeLink App > Profile > Help&Feedback > top right corner"Feedback").
