Sonoff smart plug with power monitor data went missing

I have 4 Sonoff smart plugs with power monitor model S40TBP.
On March 1, 2024 most of the data for January and February went to 0’s in the downloaded history.csv file.
Looking at the yearly trend in the app, the data bars for January and February are gone.
I manually record the data to a spreadsheet after 12:00 am daily, so I’m sure the consumption information for every day was there yesterday.
Has anybody else had this happen? I can’t help but think that it has something to do with the leap year.

On a side note, why would they make an app that you can’t scroll back and forth in the monthly data trend? Just seems odd to me.

Would you please let me know one of the device ID which met the data lost issue?
Let me check and get back to you once I have any clue.

I submitted feedback and included the device id’s affected.
I figured out the data is not lost. The dates have been shifted.
I started using the smart plugs on December 2 2023. Yet the app yearly trend and the CSV files downloaded show data recorded in October and November 2023. For instance…
In the history.csv the October 5 2023 data is actually the data for December 2 2023
In the history.csv the January 3 2024 data is actually the data for February 29 2024.
The data shown in the history.csv file for October 24 and 25 repeated for some reason (I deleted the October 25 data.)
The data then matches up exactly with the daily numbers I entered in to my spreadsheet every day.
Data is recording correctly since March 1 2024. This is why I wonder if a programming error around February 29 2024 may have caused the issue.

Thx, we got your ticket, will update u when we diagnose the cause

Awesome, thanks

Hello there,

Our team has conducted a detailed investigation of the device logs and found that during the specified time frame you provided, the device’s history field data displayed as “00000”, which caused the app to fail in accurately parsing it.

The Sonoff team is currently investigating the reason behind the device reporting this data in such a manner. If a solution is identified, I will ensure to keep you updated accordingly.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work towards resolving this issue.

Thanks Erin,
Remember, not just 1 device has this issue, but all 4 of this same device model that I have is affected.
All 4 devices show data recorded in October and November when I didn’t even have them. I installed them on December 2.
Since I identified the error and how the data somehow got out of sync. Could someone put the database back in the correct order for all 4 devices? As I detailed in previous post.
Then proceed to find the root cause.
Like I said in my ticket, I enter this data to a spreadsheet every day. On February 29 everything was correct, On March 1, the data went out of sync.
I hope somebody fixes this.

I guess this is a problem unsolved and left without a solution. Even though the simplest solution is to put the data back in order in the database and hope it doesn’t get corrupted again.

I hope somebody reads this…
So the end of the month happened, monthly graph switched to April. Since I can’t look back at March in the bar graph, have to download the csv for each of my 4 devices to get data for March 31. I’m attaching the csv files downloaded for the first 2 devices. The other 2 devices had the same issue when I downloaded the csv’s for them.
First device was downloaded fine, Here is the March part of the file…

when I downloaded the second device the data was corrupted. Here is the March part of that file. Seems to be mixing the csv’s together, repeating part of the first file in to the second file. See the tail end where March 30, 31 and April 1 repeat in second file. This is likely what caused the issue that prompted me to start this thread.

I don’t know how this happens, can someone fix it so it doesn’t happen again?
I see the filename has been changed since the last time I needed to download them. I wonder if the filename needs to be unique for each device?

Compare the end of the 2 csv files. This data from the end of the first csv, somehow got added to the end of second downloaded file from a different device …why. You should be able to go to each device and download its csv and get only it’s data but you can’t. Please get someone on the tech team to fix the issue.
