I recently purchased a MINI-ZB1GSP that I have connected to the SONOFF Zigbee Bridge Ultra. The MINI-ZB1GSP is running software version 1.0.7, and the EWELINK app is offering me an upgrade to 1.1.2. However, the update never completes. When using Zigbee, it stops at 90%, and when using Bluetooth, it stops at 30%. I suspect that the update isn’t actually happening at all, because the device is still online and can be controlled from the app. Can you advise me?

The MINI‑ZB1GSP often fails to update from 1.0.7 to 1.1.2. The progress you see (90% on Zigbee, 30% on Bluetooth) is only cosmetic, since the device never enters the real update mode, which is why it stays online and fully controllable. Many units simply can’t install 1.1.2 due to issues with Sonoff’s OTA server and the early bootloader. It’s a known issue with the MINI‑ZB1GSP.
Also keep in mind that Bluetooth OTA isn’t a great idea for this device. BLE is slow and unreliable for larger firmware transfers, so even if the bootloader worked correctly, the update would still be fragile.
And in general, Zigbee OTA can be a painful process, especially for end devices. They wake up rarely, have strict timing windows, and often drop OTA chunks so updates can stall or never start at all.
You can try power‑cycling the device before updating. But realistically, if the device never disconnects during the update attempt, the firmware isn’t being applied, and the upgrade won’t complete.
