Hello everyone!
I’ve created this complete guide on iHost. I hope it helps anyone who’s just getting started with the platform.
Any questions, just ask.
Great article! Thank you very much for your promotion of iHost.
Great article, but I am EWELINK user WITHOUT ZIGBEE DEVICES. I have about 50 cloud based scenes, with manu S60 and bulbs (about 25 all). I was thinking perhaps running scenes in IHOST ccould be more fast/reliable, but I have SOME DOUBTS before purchasing IHOST
- Can i IMPORT CLOUD based scenes to IHOST, for them run locallyy???
- What model to choose. Is there much difference?
- Without ZIGBEE DEVICES, Is thre much difference running EWELINK locallyy or cloud based?
Hello!
I don´t if the iHost is the best way to you.
1 - I think you cannot import the cloud based scenes to iHost. Even if the scenes sync with iHost through the ewelink Smart Home addon (but I think not), the scene will still running in the cloud.
If your WI-FI devices has the option to run in LAN control, maybe you can sync them to the iHost via LAN network and re-create the scene inside the iHost and delete from the cloud. Maybe that way can result. I could test this scenario.
2 - I’m using the 2GB RAM iHost. I’m using with several docker containers like home assistant and for me it’s okay. No need the 4GB version.
If you think move to iHost, maybe can wait for the end of the year. SONOFF will release the iHost 2 (64 bit version) and native thread integration.
3- Could make sense even with cloud based device if you want use the matter bridge feature that allow you to pair the ewelink devices with other matter-platform like Apple Homekit, Alexa, SmartThings.
OK thank you. recreating more than 50 scenes is very complicated. There should be a way to transfer cloud based scenes to local Ihost.
The link to the guide appears to be broken. I’m getting a “page not found” error.
Hi, thank you for your interest on running Home Assistant over iHost.
You can always get the latest guide from iHost Open Source Project on GitHub.
If you need any other help, please let me know.
excellent work. it should only be mentioned that sonoff cannot guarantee that all devices will be synchronized with nspanel pro with parallel sync. it is a big shame that they did not finish anything like this and are selling scrap.
Hi, we are going to release a new version of eWeLink Smart Home Add-on before October 17th in order to export Zigbee devices from NSPanel Pro to eWeLink CUBE OS on iHost. Currently, this is the fastest way for us to enable you using Zigbee devices from NSPanel Pro on iHost.
Will the export work in offline mode? Otherwise, you’ve definitely made a lot of ihost users happy.
Will the export work in offline mode?
No, eWeLink Smart Home Add-on relies on eWeLink cloud to work properly. For most eWeLink CUBE OS over iHost users, they want to export their devices (Wi-Fi devices, Zigbee devices from other eWeLink Zigbee Hub) from eWeLink cloud to iHost. This is why eWeLink Smart Home Add-on was developed at the first place.
To facilitate the use case of exporting NSPanel Pro Zigbee sub-devices to Home Assistant locally, we are developing a feature which will be finished in v4.1 or v4.2 firmware of NSPanel Pro.
If your usage scenario can not be satisfied through above methods or if you have better ideas, please let us know. We are eager to make both iHost and NSPanel Pro work better for eWeLink users.
I am interested in whether after exporting with eWlink smart Cloud it is possible to control exported devices locally without the need cloud
Your products are grea.I am install sonoff devicec in new electrical installations. But some clients want complete independence from the cloud, because in main country stable internet connection no posible, especially in villages.
If you want ideas, it would be good if the export with nspanel pro / nspanel pro 120 worked one hundred percent to ihost. Now it is not possible to export with nspanel pro to iHost devices such as SWV BSP, SNZB-02D, etc.
If it were a competitor, it would be understandable, but that’s your products.
I don’t use HA, it’s too chaotic, and ihost has a nice clear environment.
Thx
Thank you very much for your suggestion. I think I fully understand your usage scenario, and I totally agree with you.
We want to make NSPanel Pro work better locally, so we are developing Matter Bridge feature which will be available in v4.1.x firmware. We will support some Zigbee devices first, and then we’ll continue to support other Zigbee devices, eWeLink Wi-Fi devices, etc.
Like you said, iHost and NSPanel Pro are both from SONOFF (the software is developed by eWeLink), they should work together locally. We will continue working on this.
I am interested in whether after exporting with eWlink smart Cloud it is possible to control without Cloud?
It is true for many Wi-Fi devices which have LAN mode built-in. But some Wi-Fi devices manufactured by SONOFF don’t have LAN mode built-in. You will need to check SONOFF’s product pages carefully to verify whether a specific device has LAN mode.
PS: Whether a Wi-Fi device should have LAN mode or not, is not decided by us (eWeLink).
Thx for you time. you certainly have not easy development in any case you know that you are trying.
On your site I would completely stop developing parallelsync and its role could be taken over by eWeLink Smart Home Add that you have a fully functional or matter Bridge.
iHost is now unusable because your devices will not fully function on it.
I am continue to assemble your products.Definitely not give iHost to musím customers.
I keep my fingers crossed that you successfully complete the unfinished devices.
Tou release news update of ewelink Smart Home? Because news update dont show devices from nspanel pro.

Yes, we will release a new version of eWeLink Smart Home Add-on before this Friday, which could export all Zigbee devices from NSPanel Pro to eWeLink CUBE OS on iHost.
Sorry guys, I already fixed the link!
Here’s the new one: The Complete Guide - SONOFF iHost
