I got iHost, connected it to Zminil2 and it works great.
However, when I pull out the LAN cable from iHost, Zminil2 stops working at a distance of 1 meter.
Is that okay?
No, it’s not okay.
If the distance is greater or smaller than 1 metre, does it make any difference? Or did you want to say that ZBMINIL2 is about 1m away from iHost?
Is there any other Zigbee capable device in your location? NSPanel Pro? ZBBridge? Anything of the kind?
Yes,ZBMINIL2 is about 1m away from iHost.
It`s only one,I am waiting others.Thanks
What exactly is going on?
I dont control it in iHost via Homebridge. After a lot reading forum, is it parhaps because I don
t have Zigbee hub so I did`nt add ZBMINIL2
in eWelink app?
iHost is a zigbee hub.
I don’t understand what the problem would be.
Everything works here without the internet.
Haha, that is reason I by.If you pull out the LAN cable from iHost your Zigbee can be control in iHost?
Well, if you remove the network cable, the automations created in iHost will work normally.
However, you will lose access to iHost.
However, if you can block only the Internet to continue to have access to iHost, you will be able to control it normally.
Remember that there is no app for iHost and there is no way to control it via the eWelink app.
Just as there is no way to control it without the Ethernet cable connected to it.
However, if you remove the cable, everything ZigBee will work normally in terms of automation. They will all work.
If it is a ZigBee switch and there is a physical action on it, it will be recorded in the iHost log normally.
However, if you remove the cable, everything ZigBee will work normally in terms of automation.
-not in my case
Perhaps because I only add in Homebridge for test,no scane or automations.
Homebridge needs a network cable connected to the iHost to communicate with Apple devices!
As I said, removing the cable will only work what is recorded on the iHost.
You can remove the internet in another way and leave your network working.
This way, Homebridge will communicate with the Apple equipment and everything will work normally.
You can block internet access on all your devices and leave them working locally! So you can see that everything will work locally!
Does Android make difference as in my Case.
I don’t understand.
With Android you could control everything via Matter if you have compatible Google Nests.
Thanks for help.
I buy iHost to use local only almost, without internet, so I dont have another Zigbee hub to link with eWelink app and so on. I don
t see SNZb Mini L2 in eWelink Smart Home
and I understand that SNZb Mini L2 will work direct with iHost, but no in my case.
Zigbee devices cannot be connected to different networks at the same time. One controller (iHost) and one network only!
Try to be more accurate and tell us what is your configuration. I understand that you use Homebridge docker and that your device is connected to it. Your wish is to have the devices controlled by Homebridge and eWeLink simultaneously. You say eWeLink Smart Home and I understand that this refers to eWeLink cloud and not to iHost ability to control local Zigbee devices, right?
Please, think twice before you answer. Because what you write is quite convoluted and one have to work out what you want to achieve.
Big apology to all and sorry for my English.
I forgot I have lan swich for desktop (w/o wifi) and iHost ,so when I pull out the LAN cable from iHost ZBMINIL2 stop react.
Now (as far I know) everything work as it should.
One Tip from electrician, instead of Hot for ZBMINIL2 i use Neutral ,because I need neutral to command Tuya meter-switch.
Just, you MUST NOT use hot for ( S ).
I think this is good for 90% of gadget.
Give a tip to your electrician to always follow manufacturer’s tip. When it is said to connect live wire (L) to a live terminal, it must be followed. Otherwise you may expect malfunction and potential risk.
Very true, but when I need different pole of AC…
You should look for a product that meets your need.
A product that uses the pole you want does not reverse.
I understand that electrician understands electrical power plant not always going to understand electronic components in general like ZBmini2.
Because as far as I know it works normally via the place.
By doing this as I said if your automata are not recorded inside the host you will not be able to control anything.
And nothing will work in the sense of automation.
This is the only interface you have to communicate with ihost and check the equipment that is set up in it.
You want to command something that is not of the eco-system.
If this meter is very specific. We need to know more to see if we can help.
Now if it’s a normal energy meter. I suggest you switch to a POWR3 or Powr Ring/CT Sonoff. Because then you wouldn’t need two pieces of equipment to control one thing.
Can you post related logs/tickets so our dev @SuiKa can take a look?
Some users countered issues with Zigbee devices when iHost lost Ethernet connection.
Continuing the discussion from iHost w/o net problem?:
