It’s good to hear that your equipment is working.

Working well

Works OK for me.

Could be interesting to enable it also to work as a WiFi router to connect WiFi smart devices (like Sonoff WiFi Light Switches). So we can control everything in iHost (Zigbee, Matter and WiFi devices).

If you are concerned about people using it as a Wifi router (for internet access), you can just limit the transfer speed (like: 2 Mbps).

In this way, if I rent my house or sell it, I can just leave the iHost there and everything will keep working, even witout the ISP Router.

You can’t use it as a router since it doesn’t feature a DHCP server. It’s a typical client device.

Yes, but to use it a server also for WiFi smart devices, they will need a DHCP server running on it.
Totally feasiable…

Not a server but an access point that receives IP addresses from a router it’s connected to. It may have a different SSID.

I was thinking in a solution to be a totally stand alone solution.

iHost as a server for: Zigbee, Matter, WiFi smart devices, working on LAN-Only without any extra router and no internet.

For example:

On the current scenario, I need iHost + WiFi router (to connect my WiFi Smart Light Switches).

If I rent the house or sell it, I need to keep iHost + WiFi router there.

If the tenant/renter would like to change the internet service provider, it will need to replace the router and I’ll need to configure all my WiFi Smart Light Switches again :frowning:

You have o good point there, but the coverage area is small for the on-board wifi module. You can have a separate cheap wifi-ap with a diferent SSID (like a tenda 301n ~10$) just for that…only for IoT devices

devices not synced in eWeLink Smart Home are displayed in the “ALL DEVICES” tab and executed in scenes. RF sensors and RF buttons in scenes do not work in both “Unsync” and “sync” states. This latest update broke everything. Sent ticket ID #216362

It should work like a router to take over other devices. Or the ability to transfer a wifi/bluetooth device, for example, to the Home Assistant.

There’s not enough computing power in iHost to handle all of this at the same time. Secondly, you miss the point all the way through. You might as well have demanded that poems be recited and socks washed.

wifi works well for me after testing , but Im sticking to ethernet its better always if available cable

+1 for the sock washing function! Will it do underpants too?

In a Pro version and with turbo mode on

OK guys, let’s finish this. We are far away from the original topic :no_good_man:

Hi, you need to give a name to the screen (CAST NAME) in order the app enables the SAVE button. Same happened to me !

You’re right. I must be sitting in front of the computer too long. Because I don’t see obvious things. That’s a sign that they should add a red dot where the field wasn’t filled in.

Topic closed.
@SuiKa add a red dot where the field has not been filled in.

Feedback: 217217 is no longer valid.

I noticed that there is a red line. If I do not enter the name. But on the phone screen it is barely visible.

@SuiKa please add the option to iHOST CAST.

Please add the ability to turn off tile transparency to the cast screen. when the device is off the tile is transparent and it is not visible on the cast panel.
