Recommendation for an infrared remote control hub

Can anyone recommend a specific model for controlling a Samsung TV that’s compatible with eWeLink?

Wifi or ZigBee

Why will you need eWeLink for this?

Anyway, controlling smart TVs within home‑automation systems is usually problematic. In my view, some kind of device that sends IR commands is the only truly reliable method. Are such devices compatible with the eWeLink platform? I haven’t heard of any.

Hi!

you can use the Tapo IR matter over Wi-Fi version.

It’s a good way to combine with other ewelink devices. If you also have a ZBBridge-U you can expose through matter and work together

So did you get it working and use it in practice?

Yes! I installed a few weeks ago all matter switches with SONOFF (MINIR4M, DUO 2GS and RBS). Now I’m using the switches in SmartThings with Tapo Matter IR. It works very well.

Although I had to change my WiFi system. I use to use TP-Link Deco x10 but with almost 50 matter switches and everything at home like TV, computers, smartphones tp-link deco it’s not enough.

Change by Ubiquiti and everything is smooth :flexed_biceps:

Any IR hub by Tuya will do as you probably have found - long missed on eWelink.
A couple of alternatives :-
MOES Tuya ZigBee Smart IR Remote Control Universal Infrared Remote Controller for Smart Home works with Alexa Google Home

Don’t know what you are using, but on my iHost this just figures as a switch while on Smartthings I have a driver that makes it work pretty good.

What I use now is the Linknlink Remote best seen on. @csongor.varga vídeo here

Using MQTT on the iHost to control my Samsung dumb Tv.

The inertia of the current environment is what’s pushing eWeLink as the starting point. The need for control involves programming specific buttons and pressing them in the correct order according to a specific start time.

My TV can turn itself on according to the planned schedule, but can’t navigate further into the appropriate options and start video from USB.

I need, theoretically, fairly simple functionality.

The TV can turn itself on, but it’s too stupid to select a USB drive and start a video.
So I need something that will replace the remote and execute specific buttons at specific intervals and times.

Theoretically, when I think about it, it might not even be eWeLink compatible, although if it were, that would always be a marginal advantage.

I don’t have the “U” version of the bridge, so it would have to be WiFi… I’ll consider the offer. Thx
