How can I add a POW CT in iHost?
I added it in ewelink, I see all my other wifi devices, but I don’t see this one.
Ihost and ewelink in Docker are up to date
hey
iHost should support to add it via LAN; Could you please provide us the log of the add-on (Add-on info page) and your system log (Settings tab)
Thanks in advance
Hi Ward,
just sent the “feedbck” 222670 using the ihost function and attaching the 2 log files.
Not sure if it’s related, but I get this error trying to refresh the device list:
hey,
#1 For the device list failed refreshing issue, please log out of the addon and log in again.
#2 As of the POWCT discovery issue, can you power cycle the device and router and try again?
Logging in again solved the “refresh” issue.
But power cycling did’t solve the discovery, the POW CT is still missing (while the POW Elite are visible).
Is there something else I should do to add it in iHost other than adding the device in the ewelink app?
Is there a way to add the device direcly in iHost without using the ewelink app?
Thanks
There are no such ways at the moment. We are looking for alternatives but no progress so far.
That’s odd.
Is the device controllable in the eWeLink app? And have you tried rebooting your router?
Just tried to reboot the router but nothing changed
In the ewelink app is working fine, I also just tried pairing it again, but still nothing appears in iHost
I’m wondering if anybody was able to add the POW Ring in iHost, otherwise would mean it’s not supported
Hey
Sorry for the late reply,
let me check with the team and see if there are other issues that could lead to this.
Hey
I’m back. Do you have Android or iOS phone within your hands?
here are two apps to help you to check if your PoW CT is discoverable on your LAN;
First go to .local
Then _ewelink._tcp.
Generally there would be an item named with its device ID that you can find in eWeLink app.
If there is no matching item, please contact SONOF instead, there might be certain issue on the device side.
Hey
Your POW CT (192.168.1.x) and iHost (192.168.2.x) are on different subnet.
please make sure the two are on the same IP range, or in short, put them under the same router.
the 2 networks are linked by a VPN, I have 3 other sonoff devices on the 192.168.1.x network that are perfectly found/recognized by iHost
Flat network is always recommended, and proxy adds the complexity. It makes the issue harder to troubleshoot.
Have you tried to move POW CT to the same subnet where there is iHost?
I’ll try tomorrow and let you know
the good news it that now it works!
I just don’t understand why the other Sonoff devices are seen even if are on the other network joined by VPN
It mostly depends on how your VPN works. Glad it worked in the end.
