NS Panel Pro Thermostat problems

Thank you for sharing the logs. We have received them and are currently investigating the issue to identify the cause.

Thank you for your helpful suggestion! We will consider incorporating it into our future improvements.

Got it.Thx :+1:

Again:

Maybe this will help you but nspp restarts when i try metter bridge in iHost which is not working. And when i restart wifi in house due to updates.

In these cases nspp restart.

That makes sense. My confusion arose from not understanding that the TRV is linked from the ewelink app including its schedules and linked temperature sensor, I thought I’d have to set it up again in the new central heating system.

When I was setting mine up, I naturally chose the temperature sensor as the thermometer because I didn’t want the temperature reading to come from the TRV internal thermometer, and was puzzled when I couldn’t choose the TRV as the actuator. Listing the TRV as a separate option (with some instructions explaining that the schedules and bound temperature sensor are also linked from the app, with no additional setup required) would be the best option. If I could choose the temperature sensor as the thermometer and the TRV as the actuator (how I expected it to work), I may then not realise that I don’t have to set up the schedules again, having the TRV listed separately would help stop this confusion.

Excellent, that would be ideal.

I just thought having the configuration for both thermostats in one place (either app or panel) would reduce potential confusion, but I see you’re already going to do this. For me, having it all in the app would be best, as it’s easier for me to operate a phone/tablet.

I particularly like the new cards on the central heating screen, they tell me everything I need to know at a glance.

The thermostat on the panel doesn’t allow direct access to its controls from the app (or I don’t know how to do it). You have to open the panel, then go to the thermostat…

Furthermore, I don’t know how to create automations with the panel’s controls. For example, if I want to create a button to turn off some thermostats while keeping others on, I don’t know how to do it with the panel’s control.

…it would really be great if the app’s thermostat could be displayed on the panel, as an option.

Please refer to https://forum.ewelink.cc/t/ns-panel-pro-thermostat-problems/27834/167:

eWeLink App will provide a management portal for Central Heating System . eWeLink App has its own release schedule, and this Central Heating System couldn’t wait for it. So we just provide the Central Heating System option on NSPanel Pro this time.

Automations are running in eWeLink cloud, so they will come when eWeLink App supports Central Heating System.

it would really be great if the app’s thermostat could be displayed on the panel, as an option.

Before Central Heating System, there are already 2 thermostats on eWeLink platform. One is Thermo Plugin (eWeLink App → Insight. Enable eWeLink App → Profile → Pilot Features → Thermo Plugin option first) which runs in eWeLink cloud, the other one is Heater (eWeLink App → NSPanel Pro → Thermostat) which runs on NSPanel Pro or in eWeLink cloud depending on the thermometer and actuator used.

We plan to optimize the later one after we do Central Heating System right.

Hi, I followed your instructions and managed to activate the central heating. It seems interesting, but unfortunately, it doesn’t allow me to complete the configuration. I use NSPANEL with ID 100243ad14, to which seven TRVBZs and two SNZB-02Ds are connected. When configuring the rooms, it only lets me choose one SNZB-02D and doesn’t show any of the TRVBZs. Obviously, all the devices are connected to the same NSPANEL. Can you please provide me with more information to overcome these problems? Thanks.

Hi, I mentioned that you could select more devices. It was lost in those posts. You have to wait for what they write and it will definitely be resolved. I would advise, but unfortunately I can’t try it yet because of an error. Can you write me the procedure, I’ll try to repeat it and see what I come up with.

Hi, when I choose the thermostat it only shows me one of the three that I have installed, after which it makes me conclude the census of the room with ā€œno valveā€ because it does not detect them and therefore I cannot select it.

When configuring a room, do the TRVZBs not show up in the thermometer screen? Apparently the correct procedure is to set up the TRVZB in the ewelink app (with schedules and a bound thermometer if required), then choose the TRVZB in the thermometer screen of the new thermostat. The new thermostat then turns the heating on if a TRVZB valve opens. You may need to add widgets for your TRVZBs to a screen on your NSPanel for them to appear in the new thermostat.

I already use TRVBZ with scenes, so they’re all configured correctly. Could you please tell me what widgets are for TRVBZ and where to insert them? Thanks.

The new thermostat says ā€œonly widgets added to screens are supportedā€.

Ewelink app>NSPanel>Screens>Devices>Edit Screen>Add Widgets>add your TRVZBs.

Unnecessarily complicated, it should have been possible to set it up right away in the Central heating systen.

Yes, I was expecting to be able to choose a temperature sensor as the thermometer and the TRVZB as the valve actuator, but apparently the new thermostat links to the TRVZB as it’s set up in the ewelink app and just turns the heating on if the TRVZB calls for heating. I’m not sure why devices that aren’t added as widgets aren’t supported, as now I have the new thermostat screen, and a redundant screen with duplicate widgets of my TRVZBs. It’s possible that I’ve misunderstood it, though.

I’ve just checked, and the TRVZB widgets can be added to the default ā€œDevicesā€ screen, but they do need to be added as widgets to a screen in order to show up in the new thermostat.

Thank you for your advice… I’ve made some progress. I created a page like you indicated, where I entered all the TRVBZs and SNZB-02Ds. When I try to configure the rooms on the Thermometer page, I choose an SNZB-02D, then I continue and it only shows ā€œNO VALVEā€ and doesn’t show any devices. Can you please tell me how to overcome this problem? Thanks.

Yes, you need to choose the TRVZB on the thermometer page. If you want to have the TRVZB controlled by an external thermometer, you must bind one in the ewelink app. Also, I’ve found that you don’t need to create a new screen to add the TRVZB widgets, you can add them to the default Devices screen, but they must be added to a screen.

I think in a future version they might add TRVZBs as a separate option for a room.

Another step forward!!! Thanks again… I managed to configure the TRVBZ. I’ve currently entered 3 valves as test valves, and when it summarizes them, it names them Heating, Heating_1, and Heating_2. Do you know how I can change the names? Thanks.

I’m not sure where the ā€œHeatingā€ names are coming from. Here’s how I set mine up:

  1. In the ewelink app, add each TRVZB to an appropriately named room (kitchen, bedroom etc.)
  2. For each TRVZB go to ewelink app>TRVZB>Schedules>set up schedule. If you want to control the TRVZB with an external thermometer, also go to device settings (three dots top right corner)>Temp. Display from External Sensor>choose sensor
  3. In the ewelink app, add widgets for each TRVZB to a screen on the NSPanel (either devices or a custom screen).
  4. On the NSPanel go to the new thermostat screen>Add>give the thermostat a name, choose an actuator>Rooms>Add>select room>Next>choose TRVZB>Finish
  5. Keep adding rooms with the Add button.
  6. Save

Here’s how mine looks on the panel:

Hi, thank you so much. I’ll make these changes tomorrow and hope to get what you have. I imagine the boiler turns on automatically based on the schedules of the various TRVZBs. Is that correct?
