I’ve been pairing several SONOFF Matter products and I always suffer with this process.
It’s really hard pair a device via Matter.
My process is: add the device to eWeLink and then in settings I activate the “Enable Pairing Mode”.
After click here the device goes offline. I don’t know if this is okay, but with other brands this doesn’t happen. I don’t know if this is the cause to be so hard pair with homekit, SmartThings, homey or home assistant.
It’s a poor implementation of dual connectivity stack (eWeLink and Matter). And I am surprised to see it on the latest products. But it should be fine for pairing, if you failed onboarding it via Matter, press the pair button on devices and try again in minutes.
Saw you tagged the post with iOS; reboot your phone if you keep failing with Matter. iOS 26 is buggy
Yes! I’ve rebooted my iPhone many times, but the issue remains the same. Sometimes it pairs on the first try, sometimes it doesn’t. Another thing I notice is that it often becomes “Not Responding” after a few minutes, and sometimes after a few hours.
This doesn’t happen with other brands I’ve tested, so I suspect there might be something tricky going on with the eWeLink communication. I’m not entirely sure.
Just a friendly reminder for the team to discuss this issue and do some testing to verify whether this is indeed a problem
Hi i am try matter bridge on nspp 120 and the same isue. Matter id of nspp: ac68000bcb parring sucessful buth device offline. 23.12 on 17:14 send logs from nspp 120. If it works for me on ihost and nspp, then there must be a problem with you. It is not possible for two devices to have the same problem.
In my case, I managed to fix the issue.
I’m using a TP-Link Deco X10 mesh system, and I solved it by enabling the IoT network and moving all my SONOFF devices to it. I also enabled IPv6.
Since then, everything has been working fine. All devices are paired in the eWeLink app, HomeKit, and Homey — 24 devices in total, including the MINIR4M, MINI R2 DUO GS, and several others using the Matter Bridge from the ZBBridge-U.
