You’re welcome. Thank you.
When in the future
can we expect an update?
the update is coming soon in few days, if you are interested in participating in the test before that, send me the iHost device id.
Edited: Those who provided device id before have been added to the test list. We have stopped accepting them now. Please wait for the new version to be released.
Hi!
I’m interested but I could not find how to send you a message here (I suposed I don’t have the trust level yet).
Is it safe to share my ID here?
Thank you
I think it’s better to send it through direct message. Click on Teki’s icon (the dog) and click on message
Chiming in I was really hoping that iHost would resolve all my issue installing NodeRed. I really want to disconnect from cloud services all together and just have my automation self-sufficient.
Since 2020 : What a disappointment HomeKit has become !
All devices are “No Response” in HomeKit - Apple Community
Hoping for support to continue I still have not had any luck with my Meross Addon using NodeRed, nor with Flic, nor Lifx, and with no support for Leviton. I have to say my most recent purchase of a HomePod to replace our old iPad yet still having to purchase A new iPad just to edit and add devices, then losing the ability to play our local radio station with tune-in on the HomePod, certainly makes me just want to rip out everything I started with. When I move, I’m leaving all this crap behind.
When it came to zigbee devices, one was advertised incorrectly of having the ability of measuring barometric pressure, and the other 4 channel device said I had 8 items off. Needless to say my zigbee experience with the iHost were unreliable, having to return them.
Good news when it does work, iHost can be controlled with homeKit.
BasicR3
4chProR2 & 4chProR3
NS Panel (but not the PRO)
However so far its not been a replacement for a 30 year old reliable RS logix PLC (5/04) using Windows XP. The way things should last !!!
I am interested in entering as a BET tester of future versions. How can I make it to enter the list of the next versions?
I’ve installed the new version but I don’t see any substantial change that is worth such a long wait. But maybe I am wrong…
The new version has not yet been made available. unless you are beta. as last month there was no update if you expect this to be quite large. with bug fixes and improvements overall in ZigBee and the Matter bridge.
I am a betatester since yesterday. Version 2 should have bringed an improvement in the compatibility with third party devices (don’t know how). I cannot find anything that can justify an increase of the main version numbering. For me it is just a 1.something since a version 2 implies a big increase in functionalities. But maybe I am missing something.
Just an improvement in pairing time.
Nothing on this side.
Hi Alexie,
After reading changes of the V.2.0 I thought “Are they pulling my leg?” …
I am not going to tell anything more … just think yourselves if this is the way to go …
Best regards !
As a betatester they published this update as 1.14.1 before numbering ad 2.0.0. After seeing the update I think that is more correct to number it as 1.14.1 since there aren’t any substantial changes from previous version.
Terrible update 2.0, it became very inconvenient. No changes that were previously announced occurred. It only got worse. In the ihost interface, temperature/humidity sensors now only show temperature. To see the humidity you need to open the sensor card - this is not convenient. In previous versions, the relay was turned on by clicking on the card; after the update, you need to open the card and press the switch there - this is not convenient. Wifi relay settings (schedule, timers, temporary switching on, state after switching on and other settings) are still not available via ihost. There are also problems with opening sensors - the scenario is this: if the sensor is open, then the relay is reversed. If in such a scenario you open and close the door 5-10 times in a row, the relay stops working. This is a problem with any opening/closing sensor and any relay. There are commands in the log of the opening/closing sensor on ihost, but not all commands have a reaction. There were no such problems when Zigbee Bridge was used.
Not to forget that the interface is not compatible with smartphones and so you cannot open the card. And so… you cannot turn on and off the switch.
I didn’t write anything about the interface on a smartphone. I manage ihost via PC. In version 1.14.0, when you click on the relay card (for example, sonoff mini r2), the relay turns on or off, and in version 2.0, when you click on the relay card, a window opens in which the relay state switch is inconvenient. In version 2.0 and through the smartphone browser, problems appeared with displaying the ihost management page - the page is displayed outside the screen and zooming out the page does not help.
To control devices and view temperature use cast. http://ihost.local/cast
In CAST clicking on the icon changes the device status. As for the ihost menu which is mainly for device configuration I think the current status is correct. There is quick access to device settings. Other applications use a similar appearance (e.g. Smartthing, home assistant).
This solution prevents accidental shutdown of the device. I always had a problem with POWR320D. Wanting to see the usage preview, I would turn off half of the devices in the house by clicking on the icon.
@ward You definitely need to optimize the display of the IHOST interface on phone screens.
Sensor tiles only display temperature. No humidity.
Which model are you using?
Please submit a ticket with the log attached, it seems to be a bug.
sonoff mini r2, sonoff dual r3, sonoff basic and others. It is impossible to configure timers, state after switching on, switching on for a while on these devices via ihost. Configuration is only possible via the ewelink application.
IHOST does not support the configuration of all Wi-Fi devices
Thx for the screenshots, do you mind downloading System Logs from the settings page and sending them to us?
