My iHost has been pretty stable albeit migrating away slowly. Recently I looked at it and I saw the red leds on the front rather than blue and I could not access the UI. I have tried holding the reset button for 10s and longer whilst turning on and off and whilst it’s on with every variation in between with no noises and resets. I’ve also tried leaving it plugged into the network as others have been successful with but nothing. It would have been on the latest firmware
What is there left to do? Anything on the board itself? Any tech help available?
My experience is that a red light means a disconnected Ethernet port. I would try a new Ethernet cable as I have one of them stop working and another with a broken clip. I believe the iHost can now use wifi but I have no idea how to turn it on without Ethernet. Hopefully if it isn’t the cable it is the Ethernet port and you can get USB to Ethernet adapters, but I don’t know if the iHost USB port supports them.
My ihost had a similar failure and sonoff support after remote analysis of the problem sent a courier. They took the ihost for further analysis by technicians.
I have gone through exactly the same steps but haven’t found a way to a factory reset.
I wil happily open the box and remove the backup battery or whatever else.
