IHost Constant Red LEDs

Hi All,

My iHost has been pretty stable albeit migrating away slowly. Recently I looked at it and I saw the red leds on the front rather than blue and I could not access the UI. I have tried holding the reset button for 10s and longer whilst turning on and off and whilst it’s on with every variation in between with no noises and resets. I’ve also tried leaving it plugged into the network as others have been successful with but nothing. It would have been on the latest firmware

What is there left to do? Anything on the board itself? Any tech help available?

Report the issue to sonoff support.

PS. how many months your ihost has been working. what device version do you have.? (RV1109 DDR4 2G;
RV1126 DDR4 4G)

Thanks. I have submitted a request. It is a RV1126 4GB

My experience is that a red light means a disconnected Ethernet port. I would try a new Ethernet cable as I have one of them stop working and another with a broken clip. I believe the iHost can now use wifi but I have no idea how to turn it on without Ethernet. Hopefully if it isn’t the cable it is the Ethernet port and you can get USB to Ethernet adapters, but I don’t know if the iHost USB port supports them.

Wifi is switched on as it’s been using wifi. Ethernet cable was not in there but when I use a known good one, the red light does not go away.

Does the red light wave or is it constantly dim red?

connect the ethernet cable and check if the router sees the ihost? if it does, try connecting to the IP address.

I’ve tried all the obvious things. The red light is scrolling constantly. I need to know why it’s not a factory reset.

My ihost had a similar failure and sonoff support after remote analysis of the problem sent a courier. They took the ihost for further analysis by technicians.

I have gone through exactly the same steps but haven’t found a way to a factory reset.
I wil happily open the box and remove the backup battery or whatever else.

This is a factory reset instruction.
Removing the battery does not change anything.

Yes, I know that. Thank you.

hey, were you using Wi-Fi or Ethernet for access?

Hi, I was using wifi at the time but have tried both methods since.

In this case, please contact SONOFF for further support. Sorry for the inconvenience.

@newsnpub Red light keeps flashing? Or is it on all the time?
If it blinks you need to contact sonoff support.

I have already contact support Sonoff. But i have no reponse with satisfaction

They have a holiday now, so you’ll probably get an answer around February 5th.
