I don’t believe any one who can create scenes on the iHost natively can’t use Node Red. The whole design is supposed to be easy.
Password protecting it or something maybe, but not simply using it.

Not everyone is as handy as you. Sonoff could have solved the major problem by adding a backup function at the beginning.
This topic has been discussed a hell of a lot of times and on various occasions on the forum since the release of iHost. Just do a search. eWeLink has provided a response quite thoroughly justifying the reasons why end-to-end backup has not been implemented. Some find this convincing, others not at all. It didn’t convince me. That’s why I let go of iHost and now use HA on RPI.
Scene backup is something else. As far as I remember, this was provided for addition. It should be. The question is when. Hopefully as soon as possible. The eWeLink comment is welcome. Again.
How does Node Red require any more handiness than the inbuilt scenes on the iHost?
I can only tell there is progress on this feature, but I cannot let out more info before everything’s settled.
The most interested party is @vdrijver. Hope that your info will reassure him a bit
I have now switched to Home Assistant for 2 months. The ihost is gathering dust in the drawer
So why are you making a fuss about it on the forum?
I pay for something and Sonoff has promised to arrange a backup function at the end of 2023. We are now 8 months into 2024 and nothing has happened yet.
So you have plans to bring iHost out of the drawer, yes?
maybe to do an update, but I think it will stay for another year for now. Otherwise we will make the thrift store happy with it.
Or you may give it to someone that you don’t like
It has passed the technical evaluation phase and is in development at the moment. But I can not give a solid timeline.
Great news…
Should we now push harder to speed up the process ???
The ewelink team is on vacation, but they will return to work on Monday.
We wish you a lot of strength for work.
Happy Holiday to Sonoff and Ewelink team
