I want to get 2-3 such sensors to put them in a large room (living room with dining room). The use will be “if there is a presence - do this” and “if there is no presence - do that” and more specifically for turning off the air conditioners when there is no presence after x minutes (saving electricity like in hotels). A virtual device will be inserted that will enable-disable Alexa. What concerns me is the size of the room (6m X 6m) and I dont know about them and if they cover the room and I would like your suggestions for the correct creation of the scenes. I mean that for me “presence” it’s the same thing if someone is at the livingroom or if he is at the dining room. And a delay time (may be 30 minutes) will be necessary if someone has left the room temporarily. You say it can work ?
I use 5mins for the bathroom and 2 minutes for the living room/other spaces
For scenes, you can automate lights around the sensors rather than the whole space, which saves energy. Also, I would recommend placing a wireless switch nearby for manual/override control if you don’t have any.
