Bye Bye ihost

It is a Zemismart tuya SPM01-D2TZ-ZM ZigBee MQTT energy sensor and there are reviews about it with HA.

BTW which ZigBee dongle would you suggest for HAOS? The official one? I would like it to be compatible also with Thread if possible

There are many options, including the Sonoff Dongle Plus V2. I have used the ZB-GW04 v1.2 Zigbee Dongle. Unfortunately, it has a green LED that lights up like crazy and you can’t turn it off. I now use SkyConnect, which is a functional and accurate equivalent to the ZB-GW04.
All those running on a Silicon Labs chip allow firmware change supporting multiprotocol.

Yes, that one. Or that other one

Ordered thanks

ZB-GW04 Revision v1.2 is with hardware flow control, so it’s theoretically better with data transmission. It is ready out of the box to be deployed.
It is not necessary to do this, but on this page you find tools to upgrade/change firmware for your dongle. Be sure to select the right version and do not meddle with settings! Before you go to add Matter to your instance of HA, read documentation. Currently, enabling Thread involves manual steps. As always, better be safe than sorry

Mine is also for sale, at half price. What a bad reputation iHost got.

Thanks. I will start from the standard firmware and update it only if needed

Hi there,
Is it possibble to downgrade firmware?
The former was good, but the latest (1.14) has issues with tailscale.
If my router restarts, tailscale does not reconnect.
There was no tailscale update, thus iHost firmware has a bug.

my tailscale running fine at ihost , actually i installed it after the upgrade

My router reboots every day (due to other reasons) and it was not an issue before 1.14.
After update to 1.14, i must reboot ihost to connect the internet again, if the router rebooted as well.
It only effects the internet connection, local connection remains up.

havent you set static ip on your router, or any other network settings specially?

From your previous description it seems that you had install tailscale before v1.14.0, and all works fine. After you update ihost to v1.14.0, it also works? and reboot router, you cant access ihost web by tailscal right?

If the above description is correct, may you provider us your tailscale version?(you can see it from tailscale’s ###/admin/machines)

I did not change anything on my router.

Yes, i installed Tailscale at least half year ago.
After updating to 1.14 and realizing the issue, i removed and reinstall Tailscale, but issue remained.
I have the latest version, created: 16-04-2024 .

Everything works fine until router reboots. If it happens, i must reboot iHost as well, in order to make Tailscale work again.
It was not an issue before 1.14.

what’s your route brand and model?

And router reboot means power reboot or software reboot?

My router + modem combo is provided by Vodafone (Compal CH7465VF).

Everyday i must do a power reboot with a timer switching plug (unfortunately the router remains stable such a way).

This setup worked fine, the iHost and Tailscale could reconnect after reboot until the mentioned update.

Why do you need to do that? Very peculiar.

Unfortunately the router becomes unstable if i did not reboot it once in a day.
The internet provider changed it but the issue not solved.
It told to be some network issue in the district.

The router’s log file is full with issues, i gave up fighting with Vodafone, and this cheap timer plug solved the stability problem…

Other equipments (AirConditioner, NAS, etc.) can handle this situation.
