Bug in app update 14 September 2023

Anyone having problems with devices completely disappearing from rooms following the app update on 14 September 2023??

@PeterGoGo is there any similar feedback we have received?

Did receive similar feedback on the Forum. On our side, we didn’t duplicate the issue. @andy.morphet , could you submit a support ticket with a recorded video to show us the issues you met?

There is no problem with the Dropbox video. We reviewed the ticket you submitted and we found that eWeLink account only has one Home. But from the video, we noticed there are three homes. Could you send me the eWeLink account with multiple Homes? Thank you

Maybe that is the problem!!??

Worked ok despite this to 14 September – but not afterwards -

The main ewelink account is andy.morphet@gmail.com – and this has one home

The shared account is Andrew.morphet@gmail.com – and this has 3 homes

Possible Solution:

Shall I adjust the account with 3 homes back to just the one and see if that solves the problem??

Have now made both the main account and shared account have the following

One home – called “My Home”

Three rooms:

43

CROWN

ROSE

(also set up another room “Test” on the shared account)

UPDATE…………….

  • sorry – just discovered by mistake (swiped the screen accidentally……)!!!

Have now discovered the extra rooms on the shared account with the devices in them – but the home page doesn’t display the rooms like my phone does

The only way you get to the other rooms is by swiping to the left – and the devices are indeed in their correct rooms

Now, my main account on my phone on the home screen lists the rooms across the top

All, Crown, Rose, 43.

But the tablet app (same update of software) does not

So this is now the only problem is the home screen on Andrew.morphet@gmail.com account (the shared account)

  • this doesn’t list the rooms – only by swiping left can I get to them

Could you log in Andrew.morphet@gmail.com to your mobile phone eWeLink App and see if the rooms disappeared?

Have isolated the problem a a bit further now:

The rooms are indeed there and the devices are in each one – correctly

– although each room is not displaying on the app home screen

  • however they can be selected by swiping left and right.

(only discovered this by accident)

This is different to the app on my phone (with account andy.morphet@gmail.com)

that allows you to select a room from a row near the top of the screen.

So a minor bug/ difference now – but may still be problematic for some users if they don’t realise this

We don’t have a dedicated App for tablets. The issues occur when you log in to a tablet App. So we’d suggest you use the mobile App.

We’ve brought a new technical architecture in version 5.0, which might have unpredicted impacts on the tablet side.

With the latest version of the app, I’m no longer able to pair a SONOFF GK-MP2-B camera on the WiFi network to which it had been perfectly connected when it was commissioned with the previous version of the app, where you chose the pairing mode adapted to the device.

Is it possible to go back to the old version of the app?

Hello, I can confirm that version 5.0.0 of the eWeLink application does not support acoustic coupling of the SONOFF camera in question.
Do you have a solution to this problem?
Other pairing modes are compatible with SONOFF devices. Are they available in this new version of your app?
