Adding 10+ devices to Sonoff Bridge in the UK! help!

hi there,

I hope someone can help.
I have bought 12 Sonoff TRVZB’s for my house.
And havce discovered that only 10 can be added and would need to add a router of some sort.

I am currently using the Bridge Pro could i use the new Ultra bridge to add more than 10 devices without adding a further router?

the smart plug is not available at the moment anywhere even on aliexpress!

Any help would be much appreciated

can i use plug the Bridge Pro into the Sonoff Zigbee Mini which plugs into a usb plug which goes in the socket?

Cheapest thing I’ve ever found that connects is a Zigbee 3.0 mini switch designed for a non-U.K. light switch. Simple stuff from other brands tends to work. They rarely have the simplist stuff in stock. The Zigbee-mini-L from Sonoff does not act as a router, so avoid that. Depends if you can think of somewhere to hide the device. It requires a neutral wire so can’t go in a standard U.K. light switch box unless you can run a neutral wire to it.

I’d avoid anything that plugs in unless you live alone. I made the mistake of using USB devices to spread my signal and people are always taking them out or turning the power adapter off. Wire in something to a fridge or something that no one will turn off.

NOTE: ZB Bridge-P can connect 26 sub-devices directly (10 end devices + 16 routers, or 26 routers). If you want to connect to 128 sub-devices, routers are required, and one router-device can expand to connect 20-32 sub-devices.

You can connect zigbee bridge pro to charger via zigbee micro usb device.

I noticed you are trying to add over 10 battery-powered Zigbee devices without routers (mainly powered like Zigbee lights or signal repeaters like ZBMicro).

And it reached the limitation of the chipset of ZBBridge-P.

You can either:

  • Add more router devices to the bridge.

or:

  • Pair them to ZBBridge-U, which can hold more end-devices without routers.

Please kindly note: Zigbee tech itself discourages users from building up a network in this way (star-shape). Please add routers to make your Zigbee network more robust and reliable.

thanks for all the help everyone!
I have bought a Ultra bridge as it can have more end devices without routers everywhere.

If i were to have more than 20 or 30 devices then fari enough but for 12-14 devices in total rather just have an ultra bridge

I’m afraid that it may not work for you. You did not take into account one basic condition. The zigbee signal in buildings after passing through one concrete wall may be completely suppressed. The zigbee network must create a mesh network to work well.

unless all devices are in the same room.
