【Add‑ons Update】eWeLink-Remote Gateway Now Available

We’re excited to announce a brand-new add-on for iHost: the eWeLink-Remote Gateway.

This add-on brings native support for eWeLink-Remote sub-devices—such as the R5, R5W, S-Mate, and S-Mate2—directly into your Home Assistant setup running on iHost.

Once installed, your iHost can act as a gateway, allowing you to pair and manage sub-devices that use the eWeLink-Remote protocol. These devices can report trigger events like single-click, double-click, and long-press, which can be used to control automations across your smart home.

Key Features:

  • :satellite_antenna: Pair eWeLink-Remote sub-devices directly to iHost
  • :high_voltage: Trigger Home Assistant automations via R5/S-Mate button events
  • :hammer_and_wrench: Seamless integration with the Home Assistant interface
  • :white_check_mark: Fully optimized and tested for 32-bit iHost systems

Whether you’re using wireless smart buttons for lighting scenes or triggering complex automations, the eWeLink-Remote Gateway add-on helps bridge the gap between physical interaction and virtual control.

The add-on is now available in the official iHost add-on repository. Try it out and let us know what you build with it!

As always, we welcome feedback and suggestions—let’s keep expanding the iHost ecosystem together.

One thing I noticed is that when you have more than one R5, if we change the name of the R5 in MQTT, it is not changing the name when it is exported through the matter bridge.

Thank you for the feedback, we’ll check it ASAP.
