Hi there, I know this topic has been raised before, but has anyone come accross any other Zigbee GU10 type LED Bulbs that will work with the Sonoff iHost?

Any other than… ?
Hi jam3, I got a hit on a gu10 search in the forum, but realised it was a wifi bulb. I am currently using wifi bulbs, but they are not on my iHost platform., but on Google Home. Google Home won’t let you create an automation that starts or ends with a push button switch, but I am repeating myself , you will know this, I have been hammering on this shortcoming for ever, sorry about that
Maybe I should bite the bullet and just buy a few from Aliexpress and test them
So what do you want to achieve? When it comes to GU10 Zigbee, IKEA bulbs work with iHost without any problems. I have practiced this personally.
Hi jam3, yes, the post I found metioned them, but they are not available in South Africa and very expensive.
I would like to create a automation on iHost that will turn on all the lights and other devices when I enter a room ( I have a Sonoff Presence sensor in the room) and be able to switch them off with a sonoff push button switch.
I see. You may try this site and ask them about IKEA Tradfri range of products.
Could you please name any popular brands available in your region so we can check their compatibility?
HI ward, thanks for helping, GU10 LED bulbs are very popular in South Africa and are used mainly as ceiling down-lighters. GU10 Smart Bulbs are available, but expensive.
I have not managed to source any Zigbee GU10 bulbs in ZA.
I am trying to source a value for money ($5.50 landed) option that is Zigbee compatible. I have ordered these from Aliexpress to test. Aliexpress G10The seller online chat support was clueless. It claims it is eWeLink supported and works with everything, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating
I have also ordered some other Zigbee products to test and will post an update as soon as I have received them.
I am currently trying to source Zigbee heavy duty roller blind and motorised curtain openers that falls within that value for money definition.
I am more focussed on Home Automation and my technical programming skills are very limited, but I represent 80% of the potential market out there and making this more plug and play will be of a great advantage for any solution.
Thank you for your time and effort
For example:
The GU10 cap is well-known and popular all over the world. If you want a Zigbee-based solution to a problem, focus on Zigbee bulbs. Don’t mix different solutions (WiFi and Zigbee) or you won’t reach a consensus.
In theory, any Zigbee 3.0-compatible bulb should, at a basic level (on/off), work with any coordinator, including iHost. I am not aware of the range of Zigbee bulbs available in South Africa. My guess is that @ward is not familiar with it either. All in all, you should ask someone from your country to get a reliable clue. I have no idea about the law and trading customs in South Africa, but if you have the right to return goods bought by mail order, maybe try it this way? I can’t think of anything smarter than that.
Yea, I’m not familiar with the local market either. And it sounds like a strong pitch to SONOFF to consider Zigbee lights too.
I bought these, and they work fine and have been for a year or so
Cheap and cheerful EWelink GU10 RGB. There are 2 options in the listing so make sure you pick the ZIgbee one
